I have a 93 318is with 170 k on it with a DASC, H&R coilovers, custom chip form autothority, autothority intake, autothority quickshift, free flo exhuest, and soon bigger brakes. do you think it would be worth it to auto x this car?? i dont know much about auto x and i'm trying to get into it. Is there a 4 cy and 6 cy class or is it all in one?? And also is there any web sites for local auto x in northern va?? or maryland?? thanks
I think you will be fine. It works on a pt system which really doesnt matter unless your competing for the full season.

For local BMW events check out the NCC site at http://www.bcpl.net/~ncc/
For non-BMW primary events http://www.jwtodd.com/mwcscc-ax/
This area does not run on a points system like other areas.
The BMW events are run on a system of Stock or Mod classes, and most any suspension mods beyond shocks bumps you to Mod (strut tower bars are OK in stock). On the engine you can do "normal" things, such as chip, CAI, etc.
It looks like you would run TM (Touring Mod) here.
The other main AutoX group is the second link of the MWCSCC, and htey run straight SCCA rules. And I am not sure where you would run, but deinately not in stock. Maybe Street Prepared or maybe STS would be better.
