I need to know if the PAR intake filters come pre-oiled? I have had the intake on my car for about 600 miles. I have some K&N filter cleaner and oil so if it needs to be oiled, could I just use the K&N oil on the PAR filter?

I appreciate your help.

Good question NLR. I was wandering exactly the same thing this morning while cleaning the engine on my baby. I had mine on for about 2K miles.

Ahh, damn! I thought someone actually had an anwer for me.:(
Hopefully someone will answer this for us, because I hate to be driving around thinking dirt that is possibly getting into my engine could've been prevented by oiling it first.

honestly..i don't know either. you might as well oil it if you've got it lying around. better safe than sorry.

This is from the FAQ that Pete, the maker of PAR intakes sent to me, hopefully this will be of some help.

Q: What brand is the filter?

A: The filter is made by Pilot. We did some testing between it, ITG and K&N and they all flowed the same. The filter has a front opening to increase filter surface for added flow. It has a slightly heavier mesh weave than the K&N, which protects it much better if by chance, some flying debris is introduced into the air chamber. The filter can be cleaned and oiled just like any other aftermarket filter and will out last your car if cared for correctly.

Please excuse my ignorance, but how often do you have to oil the filter?
