With two growing kids, my E30 convertible has become impractical as a daily driver, as such, the search is on for something a little bigger. A '95 318i sedan I was considering didn't happen, so the hunt continues for a 1992-1998 318i 5-speed sedan.
I have about $3500 max to spend and the only requirements I have is a 318i 4-door sedan with a strong motor and tight suspension (can be stock) and well cared for (clean interior and exterior). A salvage title is okay as long as it checks out okay in the pre-purchase inspection (vehicle's in the Sacramento area would be inspected by Valley Motorwerks in Rancho Cordova which I will arrange and pay for). I prefer no black exteriors or interiors (I won't rule out a black interior, just don't prefer it). A 5-speed transmission is preferrable, but may consider an automatic. AC must be functioning properly.
I've been checking out Craigslist and AutoTrader, but most of the cars are in worse shape than advertised, over-priced or have a questionable history (i.e. newly titled, bought and flipped, etc.).
Sellers responding to this should provide the vehicle's VIN#, photos and asking price. Seller is also responsible for having the vehicle smogged prior to sale or have a Smog certificate current within the past 90 days (California law).
