First let me say that I have done research out the wazoo for this topic and nothing I have found helps. I am installing an amp and sub. I have the Power, ground, and REM wires correct. I need to know where to get the sound signal. I am using high level input(no RCA cables). I got it to work for a little bit earlier today, but as soon as I started to make everything look nice it went away. I have a 1999 328 w/HK sound. I currently have the sound input coming from just before the factory wired subs. According to my research, I should tap into the wires before the factory amp. When I did this I got no response at all. Can someone please help? The installer at Circuit City told me to use the wire leading into the factory speaker(the one after the factory amp). I am getting really confused and frustrated so help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

You need to make you questions a bit clearer.
Are you not getting any sound at all after you tapped your wires??
Is you stock system working with out your sub??
You should tap the wires before your amp and then straight to your high level inputs on your amp.
Did you check your fuses??

you need to tap into the wires at the speakers AFTER the amp. The high level input is a high level which is run to a speaker. RCA's are a low level which are run to an amp. If you catch them before the amp then you will get little to nothing out of them. Connect only 1 set of wires to 1 speaker. That means connect the white and white/black to the left speaker leads, and the gray and gray/black to the right speaker leads. dont connect both sides of the converter to one speaker. hope this helps.

i used a high level converter to get my signal as well, and it took a WHILE so I feel your pain. I can go take some pics of what I did and post them.

hope that helps, this is taking the signal after the factory amp that is in the drivers side of your trunk. Just pull back the carpet side and its right there. If you wanna wire it up in stereo you can, thats why those other two wires are just chillin there, I didnt feel like wiring them.
