engine replacement if you get the "Should've Serviced Engine" light. But for now do an OBDII scan, it's probably a sensor. Pull the codes

Could be a simple as your gas cap isn't on tight,or if you've noticed a difference in engine power,check your MAF sensor.

there's like 100 different things. get the codes read, because otherwise you're pissing in the wind. it really could be anything.

most likely the thermostat is jammed open if no drivability issues, or torque converter if the trans is slipping.

I'm a service writer and I get that question all the time! "What does it mean?.... How much is it going to cost and how long it will take to fix?" You'll never know until you scan the computer, or I can ROLL MY DIAGNOSTIC DICE and tell you what wrong with your car. I actual have the dice on my desk at work.

To get a idea you can go to Autozone and scan it for the code. Don't rely on their advice, do a search on the code you get. If not, I have friends in San Diego that can fix your car.
