I need help to determine what my problem is ....

Just a week ago my engine oil light came on (wasnt red, it was orange) so I topped her up with some oil, will leave to flush it all out with service shortly.

All good, just 2 days ago the light has come back on again, an orange oil light pops up.
I cant figure it out, there is no oil leak so i dont know where it is going??
All round the rocker covers etc there is no oil either, anyone have an idea what it could be?
Could it be a faulty sensor or so? I checked the dip stick too, it is meant to be where it is.
Im confused or am I not seeing something here.
Appreciate any help.

i'm confused. when you first saw the orange/amber oil level warning light, was the oil level low? (remember, oil level is checked when engine is warm, on level surface)

Now, since then, you said the same orange/amber oil level warning light came on again. How is the oil level now? Is it low again?

If your oil level is good, then I it is possible the sensor is faulty. At least on the E46 cars, it is known that the oil level sensors do fail at high mileages.

Thats what Im guessing ... faulty sensor?

Friday, 25th May:
Orange engine oil lamp comes on (it looks like a Genies Lamp) :)
Action taken: Checked oil when engine just switched off - was below mark ... filled her up and all good again.

Sunday, 27th May:
Orange light back again on dash
Action taken: Checked dip again - oil is ok, no further oil needed.
Oil warning light still on dash.

could be oil pressure. Maybe your oil pump is taking a dump.

i'm just asking, not disagreeing with you, but wouldn't low oil pressure trigger the low oil pressure light instead of the low oil level light? (they are different as far as i know, and different sensor too)
