I'm looking at an M sedan in Vermont? Do they use salt on the roads up there? This car has pretty low mileage so it sounds as if the car wasn't driven in the snow much. Just wondering. Thanks

Just get under the car and check for rust. Vermont probably does use salt.

Yeah they use salt, but probably to a much lesser extent than down here in MA, because in a lot of areas it is much less populated.

I don't think you need to worry about it too much on a car that new as they are chemically treated when they are manufactured. If it was an e21 or e30 I would be more concerned.

they load the roads with salt here. salt and dirt which is a pain because you get little paint nicks from rocks the cars infront of you spit up
