Recently purchased a 2003 4.4iA and have a few problems to sort out. The first I wanted to ask was about a water leak under the expansion tank. Any one have any experience of this? Is this a known issue or could it just be a loose pipe?

Problem resolved and for any one who has to remove the expansion tank, heres a tip!

Be aware that the thin pipe (overflow pipe I think) around the top of the expansion tank, over time, becomes VERY brittle. My advice is to carefully remove that first before anything else. Mine snapped on moving the tank half an inch (1 cm) and costs about $30 to replace. The new one is flexible but the material obviously reacts and hardens in time.

The actual fault turned out to be a thin crack in the expansion tank. No real fix but to replace it I guess.
