I have two 6er right now, and (at least) one of them needs to go.
My wife is wanting a Cooper S, and I dont want to buy another car until we make some room.

1987 L6
VIN: WBAEC8407H3265947
Miles: ~134k (will confirm this weekend)

As many of you know, this was a limited edition E24 only produced in 1987 with a total production run of 1300 being made.

The car you are looking at spent all be the last 4 or 5 years in rust free California. The original owner sold this car to a friend of his who moved the car out to Atlanta, GA.

When I purchased the car, it had a brand tranny, which was recently replaced with a 5 speed manual.

The Good:
This car has all records and documents dating back to the original delivery paperwork.
You will be hard pressed to find a car with such complete records!

ZERO rust. This car is solid, and you wont have to spend time repairing rusted out body panels.

Interior is amazing! 100% complete, and in great shape! No tears in the seats, no cracked or trashed out pieces, etc.

Manual Tranny :)

Wheels have been upgraded to 16" BBS wheels from an E34, and have 85% tread left on the tires.

The Bad (or not so good...)

Like many E24s, the previous owner pulled too close to curb, and cracked/broke the front spoiler.
This needs to be replaced. These will run you 250-500 bucks depending on where you source the part.

The AC was rebuilt and converted from R12.
Sometime ago, the previous owner took the car to a shop, and they recharged the system with the original R12.
So as it stands, the AC doesnt work, but it should only need to be flushed, have the seals/rings replaced, and then recharged.

The car spent most of it's life garaged, but this is a 20 year old car so the paint has faded.
A good cleaning and waxing of the paint should bring most of this back, but it will never be show quality.

The drivers side door lock needs to be replaced.
The central locking system works fine, so all you need to do to lock or unlock the car is to use the pass side or truck with your key.

Needs a new glovebox latch (5.00 part)

This is a super solid and complete car.
All she needs is someone with the time to make her perfect again!

The car is available with this wheel/tire option for 500.00 less.
This is a good option if you are planning on putting different wheels on the car

Allow me to help make your car more unique (valuable).

There were approx 1300 made worldwide BUT only 492 were imported to US of A, there ya' go! Now buy this beautiful rare automobile!!!!

I would in a heartbeat, however, my wife would make me live in it if I brought home a third bimmer. :(

How much did it cost you to change to a manual tranny versus installing a rebuilt auto tranny? How does it drive now? Is it worth the time and expense? I am interested in swapping my auto tranny in my L6 out but I am guessing it would be costly.

That looks like a bargain at 6k from what i can see. Nice wheels and zender wing, along with what looks like a suspension upgrade.

Oh I understand the sickness. I've had mine for about a month now and it has totally won me over. If I had the money I could easily imagine filling a garage with them. They're just so dang good looking.
