View Full Version : How much do you pay for mount & balance tires?

I have checked with Rimpro and Rim & Wheel Works. They both are quoting $100 to mount and balance 17 inch tires.

I know that they are great place, but this seems a bit high. Do you know other places that will do this a bit cheaper, but still do a good job?

Tremont tire in Carver Ma does my race tires for $40 a set, and they really suck to mount. I have to take my old tires away. I would imagine that would be about the going rate at a smaller tire shop where cash is king.

That's pretty inexpensive for 4 tires. NTB charges around $17.50 a tire, so it's going to be around $70 for four wheels.

They'll do hidden wheel weights if you ask them to. They were pretty cool at the Brighton location.

I know a guy that works at NTB. He charged me $20 for all four, reason being they get paid like $15 out of the $70 or so you get charged.

Yeah, but keep in mind that RimPro does high speed balancing and they put stick on weights. Plus, RimPro stands behind their work. I came back 3 times because there was a slight shimmy (e28 is super anal about perfect wheels). No questions asked, they took care of me. If I ever need any wheel/tire work done, I take a day off and go to RimPro.

Hmm, I think you will feel unfortunate to have me as a customer and my e28...
