I have a fully automatic convertible E 36.
Hey whenever I close my top it sometimes works without any problems but sometimes….. What happens is that the tension bow comes up and then it stops. Then I have to get out of the car and push the Rear Window bow towards the front of the car. Then I go back in the car and press the buttom again and then the compartment lid magically opens. Like I said sometimes it works without problems. It seems that when it is very hot it works without me getting out of the car and adjusting the Rear Window Bow. Please need help.
Thanks for every advice

Kai

There MANY topics regarding rear bow issues. As you can expect on a vert forum that it's been covered before. Please use the search or some browsing inside this subsection.

Many of us have (or had) the same problem.

I haven't fixed mine, but I've found that I can actually reach the plastic window from the driver's seat, so I just reach back and pull it forward. My lazy butt doesn't have to get out of the car.

Of course, since I have the other problem - where the top doesn't fold right and gets pinched by the tonneau cover - I still need to get out of the car to put the top down. But at least it's only once...
:rolleyes

tension straps and lid struts. about as common as rsm's, rtabs..etc on these cars.

I'll be fixing mine when I return from a road trip, not all that difficult or expensive.
