View Full Version : Lincoln Auto-X this Sunday...
Dark Helmet 05-23-2007, 06:13 PM who is in??? its out at Airpark, SCCA event.
I'll be thrashing an E30 from the looks of it... Project will be there IIRC... come on peeps!
Conechaser 05-23-2007, 07:59 PM Candy and I will be there.
AlarmedBread 05-23-2007, 09:47 PM Possibly if replacement strut shows up.
Why don't you drive your e36? That thing was made for autox!
Mr Project 05-23-2007, 11:30 PM I got a sub lined up for church...barring unforeseen complications, I should be there.
Dark Helmet 05-24-2007, 09:46 AM sweeeeeet.... do you want to go to early service before heading out there?
Chris... the E30 is MUCH better equipped for Auto-X duty... 2200lbs, 155whp, deep gears, and NT-01s....
GotCone? 05-24-2007, 09:58 AM I won't be there. I'm going down to KC for their autocross.
If it rains, I may end up at LAP though.
Mark your Calendars for Sunday July 15th!
I'll be event chairman for our autocross at Lincoln Southwest High School. This looks to be our biggest site currently and I will do my best to put together a fast/fun course.
I'm also working out the details to try for an autocross school on the Saturday before at LSW.
Dark Helmet 05-24-2007, 10:04 AM how in the heck is a high-school parking lot bigger than an airport/runway apron???? :confused
chances are not good for me to get a drive at LSW though...
EDIT... JULY 15th, (not june) is a zero-chance for me... wife is due july 5.
I might bring the boy down to watch for a couple hours, but otherwise, its a no go.
AlarmedBread 05-24-2007, 04:10 PM Chris... the E30 is MUCH better equipped for Auto-X duty... 2200lbs, 155whp, deep gears, and NT-01s....
You don't need a friggen race car to autox. I will bring out granny's van and still have a blast :stickoutt
Dark Helmet 05-24-2007, 04:16 PM but if it is available for the taking... WHY NOT??????
Mr Project 05-24-2007, 04:45 PM If it rains on Sunday I'm totally gonna be in contention for FTD.
(Futhest roosterTail of the Day.)
AlarmedBread 05-24-2007, 09:02 PM Maybe I should bring out my car to demonstrate the adverse effects of no damping on one corner?
GotCone? 05-24-2007, 10:16 PM Umm we don't get any airport or apron space.
Just a small concrete lot by the old Goodyear building.
It's not very big. Smaller than Mid America Center or Lancaster Event Center that we also use.
Jon
Dark Helmet 05-25-2007, 10:59 AM first time for me either way... I won't know the difference....
bmwparamedic 05-25-2007, 11:03 AM When i first saw this thread I was thinking about auto-x lincolns
Dark Helmet 05-25-2007, 11:06 AM that would be funny...
GotCone? 05-25-2007, 02:15 PM It is a great site FWIW. It's fun no matter where you run.. that's why I love the sport.
I just have a chance to go to KC with John B. and had to jump on it. I"m also selling some spacers to a guy in KC, so need to get those to him anyway.
AlarmedBread 05-25-2007, 05:23 PM No strut and I have to work on sunday :(
I might just skip out early and go autox anyway......:shifty
Mr Project 05-28-2007, 12:03 AM I went, I saw, I was very slow but had a good time. A significant portion of my Continentals are in NW Lincoln now. :)
best runs:
Me - 44.2 (STX)
