View Full Version : Report on NHIS driver's school 5/24?
bird67 05-23-2007, 05:59 AM I was signed up for the school in April and was snowed out. I had a conflict and couldn't go to the one on 5/24. I am now registered for 7/6. Anyone care to report on the event on 5/24? Especially newbies who had never attended a driver's school event before?
bungy42 05-25-2007, 10:47 AM It was AWESOME! You're going to love it! :)

I agree, but I think his list of things to bring is a little excessive. This was my second driving event. I brought a torque wrench, a 17mm socket, a tire gauge and a cooler with lunch and some drinks. I happened to have a change of clothes since I stayed over the night before, but had this been a weekend event I would likely have left that stuff elsewhere. You don't need much gear at all for the first few times. As you improve you'll probably find more gear handy, but certainly not required.
BealeAss 05-29-2007, 03:40 PM I agree not nearly everything is needed from that list, but a large majority of it is a really good idea as an insurance policy. The list itself was a huge compilation of numerous threads giving hints for new track junkie's as to what to bring. Just trying to bring it all home! :)
bman6074 05-29-2007, 04:48 PM Anyone have pictures to post? I will post mine with a short video soon, nothing special.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Let's do the day in September again together and make some mounts.
raydoc 05-31-2007, 02:24 PM Thanks for the photos. Always nice to see the car in pictures (E36 M3 with plates WA3RPG).
Love the double vision MINI photo going up turn 3 hill!
1TiagM3 05-31-2007, 09:24 PM I'm interested in signing up for this class too, but I have a question. I have done 1 track day with SCDA and am wondering if I still have to take the advanced driving skills school before BMWCCA will let me attend their HPDE school? I'm still a novice, but I have been on the track. So I guess I'm not required to take the skills school, but can still get the novice rate of 90.00? If anyone has any insight on this I would appreciate it!
Per the BMWCCA event description:
Novices
All drivers with no previous Driving School experience will be required to attend an Advanced Driving Skills School run by the Boston Chapter prior to this event. Novices will be notified as to the time and location as soon as established by the Driving School Committee. Please note that the ADSS is designed to help you better understand your vehicle before coming to the track. There is an additional $65 charge for attending the ADSS.

Were you on rte101 or whatever it is 93 turns into up that way on the night before the event so last Wednesday say 8/9pm range? Cause I distinctly remember flying by a tiag m3 w/ led tails.
1TiagM3 06-02-2007, 10:59 PM Yeah that was me ! Were you with another e36 M3 ? I was gonna play a little but my exit came up and I had the Miss's with me. Does anyone have an answer to my question above ? I'll have to send an email to Bmwcca.
vs60r 06-03-2007, 01:17 AM I thought at the event they said this last event was the only time they were offering the novice rate? Or was it the first time they were offering it...

Yep that was myself and bman6074 who's been posting on this thread. That's funny I was on the phone with him at the moment we passed by and was like oh man no playtime! I figured you were on the way to the event!
