I'm looking for a new set of 17 inch wheels for my 04 330Ci convertible. I've found a nice looking used set that are 7.0 wide with 205/50's on them.

Since I'm down sizing my wheels after damaging some 18's (and wanting cheaper tires), I'd really prefer 225/45's all around (not staggered). The sport package is on this car.

The several manufacturer's spec's for 225/45's I've looked at say they require 7.0 to 8.5 inch wide rims. So 7.0 inches wide is "doable", but is this a good plan? These wheels look cool, but should I hold out for 7.5 or 8.0 inch rims -- or are the 7.0's okay?

well i guess if it says it can fit 225 on a 7" wide rim then it should be ok....i would call a goodyear or some other tire shop and just ask them over the phone, they should be able to tell you........you should look on ebay, i've seen tons of set of the stock 17" (7-spoke i think) rims for sale with tires for a few hundred shipped...good luck
