I am in the market for a set of new tires.
Falken FK-452 and Kumho SPT tires seem relatively comparable in terms of price, performance and treadwear.
I understand that Fk452 replaces Fk451 whereas SPT replaces 712. I have used both 451 and 712. I preferred Falken 451 to Kumho 712. I did not like Kumho 712 at all.
Is this any indication that I would like FK-452 more?
Has anyone used both tires?
Thanks!

Well i don't know about the 452's on a bimmer but a buddy of mine had them m on his gti and they were quite nice. I myself have some spt's on my ti, and i love them. They stick alot better than the falken zx-512's i used to run, and they are absolutely silent.

From my expirience with 2 different models, Falken = junk.

If you're saying that Falken, as a whole, suck, then you haven't driven on the Rt-615's. You must only buy "high end" tires.
From personal experience, the Fk-452's are better that the SPT's.

good to know, but do you have any further details? in what way are they better? handling? grip? noise? ride comfort? steering feel? tread wear? there are so many factors in a tire that it's rare that one tire is better than another at EVERYTHING.

I'm also considering Falkens but my BMW dealer says no to them, describes them as "cheap". I'm leaning toward the ContiExtremeContacts but the Falkens keep lingering in the back of my mind. Which tire I buy also determines where I buy them.

why would you ever listen to the stealer?
of course they only recommend what's OE on the cars, like Contis. Aren't those all season tires? not exactly the same class as the Falken FK-452's...closer to the Falken Ziex ZE512, which is their all season tire.
