so i think my loping idle is due to a fuel filter of pump. here's what its doing. when i turn they ignition to on it buzzes (like most fuel pumps) but when the engine is running is still buzzes (sounds like a flourescent light, but louder) also the fuel distributor buzzes at the same frequecy, actually louder than the fuel pump. when i touch the inflow line to the distributor i can feel the buzz from the pump and when the buzz stops because it is erratic my idle drops off and when the buzz starts again the idle kicks back up. the buzz is most noticeable from the line leading to the cold start injector. i recently had the airflow meter apart and wur apart for cleaning but did not touch the fuel distributor. i guess it could be a clogged fuel filter. now haynes doesnt include a location for the fuel pump so where is it and is there more than 1. also read on hear you can use vw pumps. how much am i looking at spending for a new pump. sorry for the long post just wanted to be descriptive. thanks.
