Car as is is 400+rwhp on pump 93octane fuel. Plan to make it to the dyno soon have just been too busy with other things to go dyno tune for maxium power. (pulled 3-4 car lenghths by top of third on a c5 zo6 corvette.. haven't had any other fair competion:)) Love the car, have had it 5 years (bought it w/ 60k miles boosted original motor at 100k, new motor went in at 105k miles, currently approaching 110k miles) and now that I've created what I wanted it's time to move on to something new.
Again this is just a feeler to just see if anyone is even in the market for a custom turbo e36. Being one off it may be hard to sell so I'm just spreading the word that I'm thinking about selling and probably will sell within the next few months most likely.
I'm sure there will be questions so feel free to ask.
Desired price: $27000
Here's a short video of the car and a couple pics I found on this computer. I'll try to get some good shots in the next few days of the car inside and out.

Even tho your car is nice, this price is quite absurdly high

Probably so. This is a feeler though and the price is what I would like to get. I know I won't get asking price for it but I have some room to work with. If anyon e is seriously interested make an offer.
skiboard06 05-19-2007, 02:30 PM In one of the pictures it looks like you're at a dragstrip. Any accurate times to give us an idea of the speed this car has.

That was with the old motor running 8psi... ran a 8.90 spinning through first 83mph. Haven't made it back with the new motor running 18psi.
Desired price: $27000

JordanMD88 05-21-2007, 04:02 PM Oh come on Dan why are you selling....... lol i guess all good things have to come to an end..... but 27k? i'll give you 15 next week :)
Antidentite 05-21-2007, 04:11 PM Would give 17 :)
dmb882 05-21-2007, 05:49 PM Guess I threw too high a number out there to start off. Wanted to put something out so people wouldn't say "you have to post a price .. it's in the rules" but since I don't have to sell right now wanted to leave myself some room. Can't do 15 or 17 but if either of you really want the car we can talk.
Schneller Bayer 06-12-2007, 01:32 PM Ok, while not cheap, some of you guys need to recognize what's gone into this.
It's a fully built motor. That costs a shitload of money, the engine can now handle high levels of boost. It is extensively and carefully modified to the point where it can only add value. Hell, the tec 3 standalone can run you over 3k alone, not to mention what the turbo and all the parts add up to.
Since some are asking, 400+whp driven well can get you a fair bit into the elevens. AT 400whp, you're probably trapping 118+mph.
And to those who don't know, that's effing fast.
Im sorry I can understand the custom turbo and what not...But 27,000 dollars for an E36 thats not even and M3...Im sorry but no.
dmb882 06-12-2007, 06:35 PM I just threw that price out to throw it. Real world I'd take 25k for the car. Try to build something similar and add up your bills. I don't have to sell it but if someone wants the car we can talk further.
futureroadracer 06-28-2007, 09:02 PM regardless of the mods the car is still only worth the vehicles value. Turbos do not increase value. Good luck with the sale but 15k is all its worth. part it out if you want to make your money!
BMWmotorsports 07-14-2007, 09:02 AM personally i would drop the video or get a new one the car looks as if it is slow in the vid's..sounds good though
exploitJDM 07-14-2007, 12:00 PM the car looks "slow" because he is only getting on it in first spinning getting second and getting on the brakes................the vid isnt good quality. and 1/4 times are lame.....its all about track days. car looks and sounds really good, good luck with the sale. ps try to get a better vid and maybe some dyno numbers thats what the people here like. good luck!
DASC RACER 07-14-2007, 08:31 PM there is a buyer for everything and im sure someone may come along and give u what u want for ur car. just have to be patient. so what if his car is only worth so much, it's up to the seller to sell the car for what ever he wants and if u want it, buy it for his price, if not stfu and move on to the next car
stlbrouha 07-20-2007, 05:50 PM as a rule, don't mods- in general only hold/contribute like 10% of their cost to the value of the car's overall worth? isn't it pretty accepted that you only do major mods to a car you plan on holding onto BECAUSE you lose so much money in the process? the car- and i have to say is clean and beautiful- is worth 5-7K as a stocker, and i'm sorry you don't have 20k in the motor. can i borrow your calculator to measure my schlong?

Pointless post.
He can ask WHATEVER HE WANTS. You guys shouldn't be trying to make him feel stupid. If your interested in the car, contact him. You don't need to post your useless bs in the thread because its not going to change anything.
BMWal 07-21-2007, 01:28 PM Oh man!!!! That car is sexy!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUMP FOR A BOMB-ASS CAR.
dmb882 07-22-2007, 01:06 PM haven't checked this in awhile... Thanks to those of you with respectable posts. No comment to the others as you have no room to talk.
I've been enjoying the car lately and this was always just a feeler thread for now. When I need to sell it I'll start another thread w/ more info, dyno, pics, and so on.
Can this thread be closed? Thanks
tsweers89 07-22-2007, 01:40 PM ^^ not to be a thread basher but i dont get why people would do that to a 328 when if you do it to a m3 you get so much more power. To me its no worht it unless you do it right. Im not saying you didnt do it right but why not do exactly what you did to a m3. and have more power. Just my opinion though.

Um What? That motor is just as capable as an S50/S52....Cough Cardcounter cough?:confused

This is what I'm talking about...
DSrugis 07-22-2007, 04:25 PM Ask what you like...it's your car and your call.
Very nice car.

What are you smoking? According to your reasoning, then this car should be sold at around $6-8K, no? Pristine E36 M3s are going for 15k.
Like another person said, we are talking about a lot of custom work (any kit or aftermarket setup of this nature to me is custom) on a car capable of putting many others on the street to shame. Perhaps $27k is a little steep, but if someone wants it bad enough, why not pay for it?
tsweers89 07-22-2007, 04:35 PM Im not saying your car isnt sweet because it is but im just saying if you put that same set-up on a S50/S52 you would have higher HP numbers. So why do that to a 2.8L. It kind of like turboing a 318i or even a 325i why do it when you can just swap in a s50/s52 and it be better.
tsweers89 07-22-2007, 04:37 PM ^^BMWmaniac what are you talking about. Ive seen a lot of turbod m3's on this website go for around or even less than 27k and had better hp numbers to match.
BMWManiac 07-22-2007, 04:40 PM I'm saying that your reasoning didn't make sense....and I said that $27k is a little steep to me, but its his car.
You said the turbo didn't add value to the car yet you said his E36 328 was worth $15k....no stock E36 2.8L is worth more than $8k

+1
navyfam1 07-23-2007, 12:20 PM Wow... this thread got stupid...
haven't posted here in FOREVER, because I've recently ventured into VWs... and I can say that the value of a car is determined by what someone is willing to pay for it... NOT by the posts of ignorant people who just want to vent their inadequacies towards others!!
Nice car, BTW... GL with the sale when you get around to it...
stlbrouha 07-24-2007, 05:30 PM Pointless post.

thanks for setting me straight, vibes. i don't know what i was thinking. how could i have an opinion of my own? i guess i never realized that the seller could ask what he wanted for his own car. that does make sense though. maybe if it weren't titled "feeler"- which i understand to be car speak for "tell me what you think/is anyone interested in"... i apologize, though for getting your panties all in a wad. i'll save my ridicule for the absolute moron that shells out 27k for a car that's worth about 60% of that.
