Just installed projectors and Xenons. Have a problem with the HID that it needs an LCM reflash to correct.
Does BMW of Hon do this? Or is there an indy that has this ability. I would like to avoid the dealership as much as possible.
Problem is that the lights will stay on as long as the car is not running. When I start the car, 10 - 15 seconds later, the lights turn off and trouble lights on instrument panel illuminates. Contacted vendor and was told that my LCM needed to be reflashed for bi-xenons and I will loose my highlights...:confused
So if you folks had this problem and corrected it differently, please let me know.

Im pretty sure BMW of hono is the only place that can do this, but if you find an indy that can please let me know. I need to get a new LCM and have it reflashed for my LED tails

btw you might need a new lcm because the xenon LCM's have different part no's than the non-xenon LCM's. I'll sell you mine if that's the case. I need to get a xenon LCM that's compatible with LED tails

Kingrat Talk with gmh1o about this. he had his lcm done at the dealership. it is only a option that you switch in the computer like turning on the alarm option.
Dirsh are you sure you don't just need resistors for you leds? i don't think you would have to switch out your lcm

swiftss13-
Yah, that's what I got from the Fanatics site. While they are there I will have them turn off my DRLs.
Dirsh-
I got the Projector 46's from Jlevi and they should be compatible with my current LCM, but I will keep you posted. As swiftss13 said, why do you need another LCM for LED tails? I don't have them but I have read posts by sponsors that all that is required is resistors. Interesting to see if that is the case. Good knowledge for my future plans.
Plug and play.... that is what my lights were supposed to be. Somehow I knew that was too good to be true.
And you know what was the most pain about installing these lights? The damn lower trim piece, the one with the headlight washer. Somehow it just did not want to line up with the fender... well you guys will see it at a later time. Got it to look ok but took me a good while.
Sorry, just had to vent. Not a good day.:mad

I will need a newer LCM or else I could burn mine. The resistor trick is just to fix the bulb-out warning.

Ahh got it. Ok well just in case, how much you willing to part with that LCM? And does it not throw a tamper dot on the instrument panel, or is it just a rumor?

Ok, well just called BMWoH, and got a time scheduled to flash my LCM.
I said I needed to have several options enabled for my vehicle and the reply was " Lights flashing?". So I guess they did this before...:D
But the concern is that he said it will take about half a day for the car to be ready. I know this will only take a few minutes to do, so is this just some sort of scheduling buffer or will I have to pay for the entire time that the car is there?
Also what is the details on the courtesy shuttle? Do they drop you at home, or only to a certain point?

I just talked to BME and they have a GT1
they should be able to do a reflash but they don't really know how because they've never done it before

Thanks for that info! Good to know.
BMWoH did it and it works good. Just got the liablilty speech from them. Other than that it went well.
Now just to find the short on my driver side angels...:mad
