first thing i did today was fix my radio... needed an antenna. so went up to murrays, picked up a universal antenna. while i was there i saw some turtle wax on sale... for 99 cents. hahha so i picked up some rubbing compound and polishing compound.

get home, go to work on the radio, boy oh boy was that fun :shifty here are some pics of my ghetto rigged antenna...

the nob right under the time button, controls volume for the radio... pretty neat.

now on the the turtle wax. i only did the trunk, because i just wanted to see how restorable my paint is. it's not too great, but i've never done it before, and i did it by hand.

What's it wired to? Maybe your car used to be a low-rider and that raised and lowered it! Cool! Could be aftermarket power window...I found a power door lock in mine when I dug in there.

one wire was cut(ground i think) and i didn't feel like tracing where the other one went. oh well, ill just leave it be, until i have it all apart again.

wow, that paint seemed to come out pretty good! :cool You should get your hands on an orbital & some better polishing compounds...I bet you can get that paint to shine like brand new.

yeah i was going to get some klasse AIO, i've read that it's good on oxidation. but i couldn't find it anywhere. i checked murrays, walmart, and meijers(local store like walmart). and these were just a $1 each, so i figured, it wouldn't hurt to try.

i can't really afford any decent polishing equipment. but ill pick up one of those $30 rotary buffers at harborfreight soon and really shine her up.

I think your paint will come out fine if you spend enough time with the rubbing compound on it.

might want to invest $30 in a harbor freigh 7" polisher, it makes jobs like that go by much faster, just make sure you're careful with it, use it on the lowest setting and never stay in one spot...

You can get the Klasse twins from Autogeek. They are a forum sponsor and you receive 10% off. I would first polish and strip the paint before waxing or using the twins.

IMO AIO won’t do anything for you. I would get some Menzerna Intensive Polish, it removes the equivalent of 2000 grit sand paper swirls. I would then use the second step of Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze. You could then use a poly Sealant like UPP and then finally coal it with a pure carnauba (not Turtle Wax). It might cost you a little more for these products but your results will reflect the quality. There is still a layer of paint under there waiting to break through.

If you need any tips on detailing or products I can help you out. Your paint is badly oxidized and waxing it will only make it look good for a couple months. You need to polish the crap out of it, and then seal it.

And if your not going to geet a DA (Dual Action) Orbital varible speed polisher, dont waste your money on anything else.
