My M6 has some old black floormats in it. They're genuine BMW mats, but they don't look like they were cut for E24s. The rest of my carpet is tan and I was just wondering if Lotusweiss cars came with tan or black floormats?

That's funny. I have black floormats in my Lotus interior M6. Mine say 'M6' on them in white, and are cut correctly, but I'd have a hard time believing they were factory.

Mine just say "BMW" on them and look like they might have come out of an E39 or E46.

ive seen the same ones in e32 at my last job, mine match pretty close to my carpet though. they are definatly not originally made for my car though cause they have the cutouts for the little locking latches

+1 for me, but, I know these were not the original floormats. After 20 years, I am sure they were ready to be tossed long before I aquired the car.

So we still don't know what color mats our cars originally came with? I think black or tan mats make the most sense to me. I'd like to get new mats at some point, and it'd be nice if they looked original.

Being an original owner with a red/lotus M6, I can tell you that they did NOT come with mats; you had to buy them. The common choice for the lotus cars at the time seemed to be charcoal mats because of the contrast, but pearl beige were also a common choice. There were no lotus white mats made.

Also, some lotus cars had the white carpet, while others came with charcoal carpet. So, the contrast would be different for each anyways. My car has the charcoal carpet.

BMW never produced an "M6" mat that I know of. The mats just said "BMW." The "M6" mats out there are aftermaket and not genuine BMW wares anyway.
