That car looks really beat. I usually have no problem with mechanical issues, but to me, rust is an absolute deal breaker. And that car has plenty of it.

Rusty!!!! With that much visable rust, just think what is in other areas. Front fenders are rusty, inner fenders in front of strut towers, rear wheel arches, gas flap area, around tail lights, around wiper arms, and strut towers. What we can't see is rear shock towers, floors, rear sub frame and under car. It has been resprayed so who knows what is hiding under the paint. How much are the parts worth to you?

She's rusty for sure, but the body looks straight and the dash looks good. How's the rear end look in the trunk? If you're wanting a daily driver, I'd personally hold out for something else, but it might be a good parts investment depending on what it has that works. I'd try to talk em down a bit imho.

You didn't say what year, but by the pics, I'd say pre '82. That means E12 based, L-jet injection, not the most common.

I dunno, if it runs, it may be good parts car. But, if this for your first experience in a bimmer, and actually want to drive this guy right away, I would not buy it. These cars cost significant money and require serious shopping around for parts even when they are in fair condition, let alone what this one looks like. If you are prepared to take on a HUGE project, maybe go with it but definitely offer less.

I wouldn't pay half of that for that car, it looks like crap to me...

i bought mine for $150 and it has no rust, and it runs and drives. so nearly a grand for that example sounds pretty steep to me.

then again i got really lucky with my deal just because the previous owner didnt realize what he had, but still...

To give you an idea I just bought an 82 e12 based one w/zero rust still has original spare tire just faded hood roof and decklid for $650.00 and it was on craigslist for two weeks. and it is a five speed fast as hell too. consider this. unless you are a bodyman you are looking at 5grand at least in body and paint work and I mean at least. There is a killer looking black 85 on Ebay starting at $1500. with one bid check around.:devillook

I remember this car. A long time ago the dude was selling a decent looking E30 325iS with some mods for cheap and I checked it out and I asked what was up with the big 6 and he said bad fuel pump or something. It has been sitting, a long ass time. If you are interested, a few minutes away from me there is a black 633CSi turbo that has been sitting with a supposed blown bottom end for a few years. Was the husbands car but he got kicked out and the wife wants it gone, asking 2k last year. It has Euro M6 front end and rear bumpers.
