Has anyone had any luck with repairing the cracked vinyl on a dash. I have 3 or 4 medium sized cracks and I don't want to go with a full dashboard replacement (if I could even find one). My other option is the overlay, but I'd like to stay with the original if possible and not too expensive.

Bavarian autosport has front and rear dash covers for the 320i. They fit perfectly and hold down with velcro stickers. Not too expensive if you want to conceal the cracked dash.

the back one especially helped because I had two large ugly holes on the back dashboard where the previous owner drilled to accomodate rear speakers. .

I didn't know they had a rear version. My back one is a mess. Is the back one vinyl ?? I wonder if it would fit a Baur. I'll have to check that out.

No, the rear one is the same black material that the front one is, so they match. The company that makes dash covers is called Dash Designs. That's who bavauto goes through. They look really nice as I said and fit perfectly. What's a baur?

Baurs are the old BMW convertibles.

The parcel shelf (rear dash) is different on the Baur.

I have been told by four separate sources that dash repairs are still noticeable, and just won't last. Unless it's used for holes caused by mobile phone kit installation or light scuffs there is no substitute for a replacement dash.

I bought one for my car, but then decided on installing a E30 LHD dash in the end (long story!). It is for sale, and I want what I paid for it $200, this includes an crack free heater box. I am however based in england, so shipping to the US may be expensive, would have to find out on shipping charges. If anyone is seriously interested then send me a pm. No offers though, the only reason I'm not keeping it is because I'm a little low on space. I know how rare these are at the moment, and I feel $200 is more than reasonable :)

Thanks Bruce. I thought the rear shelf may be different on a Baur.
