Any way to know the exact value they use? And what stage of tax relief is Fairfax county in?

Thanks.

They use a percentange of the Blue Book value, and then the State pays 80% of the tax to the County and you pay 20%. Republican Gov Gilmore had legislated the State to pay 100% but before it got there the Democrats got re-elected and so it stands at 80%, who knows, the Dems are still in power and are talking about ways to spend more of my money so it may change again.

The tax on my 2000 M Roadster that I had to pay was around $300.00 last year.

Those revenue sources include a congestion relief fee, or grantor's tax, of 40 cents per $100 of assessed value for properties being sold; a rental car tax and hotel tax of 2 percent each; an additional $10 for the annual car safety inspection fee; a 1-percent increase in the initial car registration fee; a 5-percent tax on car repairs; and a $10 regional registration fee.

7 more road use taxes that are being enacted since Dem Kaine got elected.
