So in case the sn doesn't give it away, i'm a bit of a climber. Haven't had any excursions outdoors (i know, i know), but I'm a gym freak. Last summer, I got a gym membership at Atlanta Rocks and I'll be doing the same this summer.

I have some friends who I go climbing with, but it's always more fun when you get a big group of people together. So, this is an invite to anybody who's interested in either getting a climbing partner if you're already into it (last summer, I was a strong 5.10 climber, hoping to get to 12 this summer) or just going to the gym and having fun and learn, I'd be more than happy to show you the ropes. I'll probably be down there 3-5 days a week after work, so shoot me a line if you ever want to go.

Shoot me a line.. show you the ropes.. This thread is just full of puns!

I have done some climbing in the past. Mainly 75-100 foot stuff. Used a gri-gri (sp?) for our climbs. I am wanting to get back into this again. :redspot

Sweet. I'm going next Monday after work (I'll be at there maybe 5-6). Anybody and everybody is welcome to come. Expect to pay about $20 if you've gotten belay certified at Atlanta Rocks, and a little bit more if you haven't. If we have more than a few people show up, you may have to rent some more equipment (belay devices etc... I'll only be bringing 2), but it's not too much extra. expensive.

Are we speaking of Atlanta Rocks Intown? I have done far more outdoor climbing than indoor climbing, but I was a member at Atlanta Rocks up until last year when I lost my climbing partner.

You'll have to learn how to use an ATC if you're going indoors. Atlanta Rocks doesn't allow gri-gri's.

I too have more outdoor climbing time. I belonged to an awesome climbing gym when I lived in Richmond.

I used to climb several times a week at Vickery Creek back in the day.

I would love to get back into it.

It would mess up your manicure, wouldn't it?

Well, I'll be getting a membership @ intown, but it's valid at both intown and perimeter, so either is cool. I wish I had more outdoor climbing than intdoor climbing, just haven't had the chance yet.

Whoops. but yeah, ATC is the way to go.

bump...
If you can still make it, I'm going climbing tomorrow at Atlanta Rocks, I'll be there somewhere between 5:30 and 6, barring horrendous traffic. If you've got it, bring your own gear so you don't have to rent!

Hope to see you there.
