Does anyone here know a good, reliable shipping company? I'm relocating soon and don't feel like driving 3000 miles. Thanks

Search the South West forums. I asked a while back and was given a web site. Enter your source/destination and you get dozens of quotes. Look to pay $1500 or more for that distance.

some key issues with shipping (especially if you're anal about your car):

1. is it covered? covered costs more, but saves possible damage/weathering during shipping.

2. do they do depot drops? some shipping companies use depot locations to move cars between carriers. that means if you're in NYC and shipping to LA, there is a chance your car will be moved on and off different transports = more risk of damage

3. can you get location on the trailer? if it's uncovered, the best place to be is on the front (either on top or behind the cab). if you're not in front, your car will be moved every time something deeper in is getting dropped off = more damage risk

it really comes down to how much you worry about damage and how much you can pay. if there is no problem paying, go covered

+1 for Intercity, I used them to ship a car from Houston to NY and they were fantastic. Dropped off at my house and in a closed carrier. Reasonable price too.
