View Full Version : How hard is it to replace self leveling rear shocks on an E38 bmwpower 05-16-2007, 02:30 PM 750iL to be exact. I don't have the E38 Bentley.... shogun 05-16-2007, 10:51 PM Go to www.bavauto.com there is a self elimination kit for the E32, that will probably help you to do it on the E38. shogun 05-16-2007, 10:57 PM Here the direct link http://www.bavauto.com/Assets/inst_pages/E32e34ElimKits.pdf Actually no need to buy that stuff, just remove the line which goes out at the regulating valve in the rear towards the shocks, install a plug. By this the Pentosin can still circulate from the front to rear and back, but not go into the area where the bombs and shocks are. bmwpower 05-16-2007, 11:15 PM I don't want to eliminate the rear self-leveling shocks, I merely want to replace them with a new set of self-leveling shocks. I would have eliminated them, but the owner already replaced the front self-leveling suspension (at the cost of $2K). bmwpower 06-12-2007, 03:00 PM Anyone? Need to do this job soon... kromdom 06-12-2007, 09:24 PM not sure if you have already looked under Suspension & Steering here: www.e38.org bmwpower 06-14-2007, 12:21 AM not sure if you have already looked under Suspension & Steering here: www.e38.org Actually, that helped.
