View Full Version : Anyone want to do a track day?
Want2race 05-16-2007, 10:04 AM Looking at Little Taladega. 9 people maximum.
If we do a weekday its going to be about $112 a person. Weekend rates still being negociated. We currently have 6 empty spots of people who want to do it and are all pretty flexible on the date.
Any desire?
M3BimmerBilly 05-16-2007, 10:22 AM What time frame.....June, july, Aug?
I think a track day on July 4 would be a spectacular way to celebrate our freedom and get a nice discounted rate! And most people have it off by default.
redefinedM3 05-16-2007, 10:35 AM I would love to do it - dates will decide for me :)
Halston Pitman 05-16-2007, 10:41 AM I am in depending on date. Weekday would be fine. A friday or a Monday preferred.

My Track car is checking up rims from a ball joint problem which can only be solved by bigger wheels :( Buying new wheels just doesnt appear to make any sense
Halston Pitman 05-16-2007, 12:01 PM So then a Friday or weekend day it is!
Keep us up to date!
Wanna sell them ?

We can con McCoy into coming out and playing instructor. :dunno
krisko 05-16-2007, 12:13 PM I'm in if on a monday or tuesday. Got some tires I need to chew up.
'Lil Tally is a bit longer and repaved since most of us have seen it. A buddy said it's almost 2 miles long now but I don't think it's that long.

keeptheuroalive 05-16-2007, 04:22 PM I'll go. If it is sometime in august, Im pretty sure I won't have started school. Let me know the exact date and I can give you a 100% yes, but until then I'm about 99% sure I'll go.
PointMEby 05-16-2007, 06:25 PM I'm down anytime.. anyday, starting the first week in June.
ShaunATL 05-16-2007, 07:21 PM Any chance of moving this up to June instead of waiting until August?
Want2race 05-16-2007, 08:19 PM I only need a few people to close out my event. It appears that theres enough people on here to do another one entirely..
I would be down for one in June. Any monday.

Honestly I think if you did one once a month at $50 more a person you'd close the event everytime.

only 3 cars allowed on track at a time. So basically your looking @ a pool of 20 cars which breaks into 7 groups.. I wouldnt want to wait that long between runs.
ShaunATL 05-17-2007, 11:48 AM Boo 20 cars.
10 FTW.
I agree.
kendogg 05-17-2007, 11:53 AM Count me in for a weekend day, I work during the week......
RJ's325ITS 05-17-2007, 12:13 PM Mike and I were talking about doing this last week, we want to run his SE36 Vs. my ITS car so will be nice to know some dates I will be down for anyday of the week but I'm going out side of the U.S. again so if it's in August I'll sing up. If it is on July I have to see if i'm in town.
Rafa,
ShaunATL 05-17-2007, 02:28 PM Lots of days open in June: http://www.tgprace.com/2007dates.htm :ponder
Weekdays are better for me, plus the rental fee is less $$$.

I'm willing to ride with people as needed. lead/follow works too.
I'd also encourage anyone interested in doing DE's or any track stuff to attend some autocrosses before the track event. Car control clinics are a very good idea too. (plus that means lots of fun activities like skidpad and such.)

What seemed to work best the last few times (which, again, was 10 cars, not 20) was to have 3 on track, and a "line" of cars waiting. It'll start out with a long-ish line, but if you keep it to 15-20 minute stints at first, the line shrinks. usually by just after lunch time, there's either no line, or at times even only 1-2 cars on course. People (as well as the cars) get tired. 20 may be a stretch, but 10 is easy to do this with.

:wave
Are you signed up for July?
ComSci 05-17-2007, 05:57 PM No, I really can't spend the whole weekend at the track right now. Breaking ground on our new house in June.

completely missed what I was saying. Yes 20 cars FTL but If we did an event at L.T every month it would fill..everytime.I.M.O..even for $50 more for what that 10 of us are being charged now
Robstah 05-19-2007, 02:48 AM I am up for it. I can bring my camera stuff along as well.
328iJunkie 05-19-2007, 05:04 PM Im down. Need all teh experience i can get.
