I got my stuff done for my corolla at Polar A/C in Pearl City.

Most people quoted me over $1200, but the guy there did it for like $950.

The guy i bought my corolla from told me the compressor was leaking, so thats what i told the Polar A/C guy. He wasnt sure, and decided to just do a vacuum/refill to be sure, which cost $150 or so, dont remember exactly.
It worked for a few hours, but since the compressor was leaking, it stopped working. I took it back, and he told me it would cost $950 for the compressor change. He did the work but took out the $150 i paid earlier because he told me earlier that he wouldnt charge if it didnt work.

Anyway, he seems like a pretty honest guy to me. He wasnt concerned about the money too much, and didnt have a problem with me paying him later (if i didnt have the cash on hand).

**Still got those ebrake and shift knobs?

Good info...can this guy do the conversion from an old R-12 system to the new R-134? I don't think it's as simple as bleeding off the R-12 and refilling with R-134. IIRC you need equipment specifically intended for this purpose. I have an old 83 320i that has working A/C, but it isn't very cold; I'm sure it just needs a thorugh servicing.

I dont know.. Im sure you can call and find out.

Im about to leave for work, the number is in the yellow pages im sure.

Polar Auto A/C.

If you cant find it ill look it up.

Also, he gave me a year warranty for parts and labor on the compressor.
