First off, my car is quick not fast, that being said....

I just put some power pulleys on today so I took the Z out to get a "seat of the pants" feel for the mod (actually hard to tell since its already quick on the throttle).

I get onto US 78 out of Monroe at hwy 138 and see a Mustang GT (2001 era) go by. I eventually catch up to him and falls in behind me as we head towards Athens (I was really just trying to find a light to catch him at, only 3 between here and Athens 15 miles away). We finally get side by side at the last light.

Me: Man, but tryin to catch a light with you since Monroe! :D
Him : I here ya!
Me: Got any mods?
(light turns green, rolling about 5mph still talking)
Him: Just NOS, not hooked up right now, by the way, nice car.
Me: Thanks

I give him the go signal and he hammers it and I quickly respond.
He jumped about 1/2 a car from the beginning and I caught him before the shift to 2nd. By the time I hit 2nd he was about 1 car behind. I hit 3rd and he is still coming hard but not gaining, about 4 cars behind when I see him let off (nose drops) and he brakes to hit hwy 316.

I know in the long run he would've caught me but just havin a little fun.

As far as his driving abilities: He was a good driver, I could hear his shifts (very quick) and also hear his exhaust.

Short read: Mustang GT gets the jump from a roll but ends up 4 cars behind by 75mph.

Nice car, nice mods.... I know with my old 2.5 Z3 w/ pulleys, software, cams, intake, exhaust, 3.73 gears that I'd take a mild previous gen mustang. The guy say or do anything after?

No, he didn't have a chance. He took a right on a ramp to the other hwy and I kept going straight. I'm sure I'll see him around again though.

I got an awesome deal on the swap, total out of pocket was a little over 2k and that included labor! I would've liked to have had the S54, but I was told that it would be cost prohibitive at the time. Soooo, I'll just mod the crap out of the S52! :D

He would not catch you in the long run. Your car is flat out faster than his. Well i suppose if the NOS was hooked up but thats cheatin anyhow.

Well I have a 3.45 rear, so not sure what the top end is.

Probly still better than his but who knows. Ur car is still unique as hell.
