Hey im looking to install an aftermarket nav in the M. I currently do not have the factory nav so I need to find some OEM parts, specifically the new dash mount to move the A/C unit into the current storage compartment. I think the # for this part is 51-16-7-001-408 (coupe). Is this something I can find online, or will i need to order this directly from the dealership. How much does something like this typically run?

This site should help you figure out exactly what parts you need and what they would cost, but as far as ordering them i'm not sure.

Search "realoem bmw" on google

good luck

There are two parts available.

For a double-din unit, you also need to cut the vents behind the climate controls and build or buy a custom trim. Try www.mybimmer.net (http://www.mybimmer.net) for the trim. If you need more details, let me know. I have done a few of these.http://photos.e46fanatics.com/data/500/51167001408.jpg

thanks, but my main concern is moving the a/c control down to where the storage is now. What will I need for that?

Did you see the two pics I posted? You need to pick the appropriate one, depending on how old your car is (you can tell by looking at the buttons).
