View Full Version : PS Request: e92 M3 Circuit racecar!
jkalex05 05-15-2007, 03:25 AM I really need you photoshop gods help right now.
I need an e92 M3 GT circuit car. Wide body kit, Deep dish rims with some fat slicks (preferbly Michelin). Alpine White with Blue Michelin sponsor car. Yellow light covers would be great aswell aswell a nice GT style wing. If you can stick a roll cage in there that would be sick. Aswell as multiple angles.
HELP me out guys. Im trying to work together a racing team to compete in the Lemans GT series and I need your help to show my buddy a Southwest Michelin owner what his car would advertise for him. So help me out guys please!
Im willing to pay if the quality is good.

BMWDan 05-15-2007, 06:51 PM raceMpower95, did you use Photoshop for everything there? Or what? Any other programs?
I am pretty good at photoshop, no ego, but I never learned how to create custom widebody stuff like those two above...amazing talent...I made this for my class from scratch but I'd love to know how to create that kind of stuff...

I am pretty good at photoshop, no ego, but I never learned how to create custom widebody stuff like those two above...amazing talent...I made this for my class from scratch but I'd love to know how to create that kind of stuff...
Yes, everything was done in Photoshop CS2. This was actually one of my first attempts at the custom widebody stuff. I usually just do the standard stuff. Wheels, color change, tint, CF parts, body parts, interiors, body smoothing, lowering, etc... The widebody stuff takes a lot of patience and airbrushing in all the highlights and shadows, etc. It's not done yet, but I think it looks decent so far...
bmwguy259 05-16-2007, 07:10 AM wow this is going to be interesting. sick thread
raceMpower95 05-16-2007, 11:00 AM Here is Stage II. More bodywork and a few more decals, etc to come. Stay tuned.

Well most of that is pretty simple until you get to the airbrushing. Looks fantastic though for sure, are you using a Wacom tablet? Oh and lose the sharkfin on the roof.

:confused simple wouldnt be the word i pick to describe it. There are far more difficult things. Such as air brushing but thats still pretty difficult to get to look right.
Yeah i was gonna tell him the shark fin should go.

Wheels, color change, tint, CF parts, body parts, interiors, body smoothing, lowering, etc...
That stuff is rather simple with a basic idea of Photoshop, although creating custom bumpers and such is not as easy, just time consuming. The airbrushing it takes to make it look right is the hard part.
www.photoshopjunkie.com/tutorials/ shows you how to do the most basic stuff...wheels, drop, tint, etc...
The rest is sourcing pieces to pick and pull from, like the cage and such, unless that was from scratch. Not saying that shit isn't easy to make, and it looks fantastic, but I guess I just know how to do that stuff so I think its easy. The reflections in the bodywork is definitely a nice touch, along with the side exhaust and rear spoiler. I have some CF weave in hi-res if you need it for the front splitter.
I want to take a shot at it from a different angle, but with some older paintschemes...stay tuned.

Just voicing my opinion, take it or leave it as you will. Not knocking his skills, the guy has serious talent.
WTFCIRCUS 05-17-2007, 05:05 AM Dave looks great my only concern is the fact that the widebody is dwarfing the wheels a little other than that looks awesome.
raceMpower95 05-17-2007, 08:26 AM Hey guys, thanks for all the comments and criticism. Please keep in mid though that it is far from done. As for the CF pattern, I have all that covered, I just haven't applied it yet.
BMWDan:
I never said anything that I did there wasn't simple. It's just ungodly time consuming to source parts for this angle. It seems like every side shot I find is just a little off. Anyway, thanks for the comments, and stay tuned, as there will be a few more versions to come.
Oh and Andrew, you might be sitting behind me, but piss off. You couldn't do it half as good, ya pansy.

I got this grunge brush set for CS2 (can't remember from what site). From there it was just picking the right colors (mostly black and brown) and varying the opacity and positions.

Hey, that one you see there is actually only Stage II. Stage III is just about done, and the drop has been addressed. There are also more sponsors, more decals, etc... I'll email that one to you, and post it up today.

actually that is more realistic. Many racecars have the wheels tucker under the fender to let the be lower. especially on custom wide bodies.
