Ok so. I was driving home from my first final of the week and I see a red camaro ss. I use to love those cars when I was 16 or 17. Anyway. The camaro is right infront of me at the light and he takes off decently quick when it turns green so I folow.

at the next light we are both next to eachother and he looks like one of those oc 909 bro types lol. anyway he smiles at me in his sunglasses and gives me a nod.

So its on.

the street we were on was kind of an uphill so I played with the clutch and gas to hold me steady at about 3k. when the light turned green I didnt drop the clutch, I kinda played with it a bit and got a prety good launch. The camaro had a horible launch spinning tires like crazy. I could see the smoke in my Rear. Since I had a good launch I got about 1 car inbetween us by the time we got out of the intersection. I kept looking in my rear to see where he was and if he was gaining. It seemed like he was holding strong 1 car behind me and noone was gaining anything. I shut down at about 90. by then I would say a good 1 1/2 cars inbetween us. give or take...

I personally thought he should have caught up and beat me once he regained traction considering they have in the range of 320-340hp stock. Im not sure exactly howmuch.
If it was from a roll he probably would have beat me.
But Im gona have to take this as a win for the NA s52:alright

I've had a similar experience with my M roadster. I was behind the guy at the first light, and when he took off, I ended up missing third. At the next light we lined up together. I think the guy just got his shiny new red SS too. I hooked up with my Eagle F1 GS-D3's and he just stood there spinning.

once again we see that a faster car was beat by the better driver. Hey just curious, what do you run in the 1/4? You have pretty much the same mods that I want to do to my car save 3.73 gears.

Good kill and stay safe.

Just a friendly note that holding a car on a hill with gas and clutch is the best way to ruin your clutch. You may have already toasted it potentially doing that. How do I know? Been there done that...:)

The OC is for Orange County and 909 refers to the area code in Inland Empire of the LA basin. 'Bro' is the nickname given to guys that fall into the stereotype. Another synonym is a flatbiller. I would say check out flatbillers . com if you care to learn more, but it would be a total waste of your time!

Hilarious read... "often with the intent to ride motorized vehicles. However, the true signature of a bro is revving the bike but never managing to ride it"
:lol

I have never run the 1/4 with my Mcoupe yet. im planning on doing do once im done with the preformance aspect of my car.
that includes pulleys, track pipes, and 285's out back. then Im gona take it to the track to see what I could run.
But as of now I bet I could run somewhere in the range of 13.6-13.8. maybe better with wider tires and a few more mods. who knows.

was it a 98+ SS? cuz those stock trap around 13.2-13.4 even the pre 98s had similar trap times as well

im sure I could pull a 13.4 with some good tires, decent launch, and low elevation.

Its all about the driver...your typical asshat in a Camaro sucks. I have a 2001 SS with a few mods and my buddy has an E46 M3. From a dig, I pull him by about 4-6 cars. From 40, I pull him about the same. My car manages 13.1 in the 1/4 NA

Remember now that he clearly realizes that he beat the driver and not the car itself. I am pretty sure that everyone here realizes that no bimmer save perhaps the S54 M Coupe and the E39 and E60 M5 are the only ones STOCK that could match or beat a stock LS1.

That was with crappy tires and the DA wa almost 2000 feet. Mods are TSP cat back exhaust, stock Blackwing lid. Car is an M6 with 50k on the clock.

I need to get back to the track, current mods include LS7 clutch, LS2 flywheel, Poly torque arm and tranny mounts, Lou's short stick, (ive got a set of JetHot longtubes sitting in the garage) Custom 100 dry shot. Also now on Nitto NT555R 285/50/17's.

Good run! I absolutely DESTROYED someone fitting the same bill (bro) in his ls2 camaro with the 240.

Should've seen the look on his face when the little 2.0 leaves him horribly behind.

actually, according to http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30535 he did a 13.89 @ 99.6mph in a bone stock z3 3.0 and a 13.65 with a slower trap on drag radials. His results are probably about as common as the famed 12 second stock f-body (ie- not common).

16. SilverStreak: 13.65 @ 99.1 (stock 3.0 w/ DR;/7)
17. SilverStreak: 13.89 @ 99.6 (showroom 3.0;/7)

good kill

I am aware that I beat the driver and a beter driver would have beaten me in that car but dont underestimate an Mcoupe. They are faster than most people think.

LS2 would have had to have been a Vette or GTO, If it was Camaro/Firebird/Transam you beat an LS1 or LT1

what?

the last motor the f-bodies got was the ls1. there are no ls2 camaros or firebirds (unless someone did an engine swap)
