SOLD!!!!

I'm selling my Panasonic CQ-C7413U head unit. Info can be found here:

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=690188&referrerid=&highlight=cq-c7413u

I bought it because I thought that matching the colors on the dash was a priority for me, but I've realized that I'd rather have better integration with some of my other-branded accessories, so I want to get something else.

This unit has been in my car for only a week. The harness is prewired and includes the powered antenna adaptor that is required for the later E36 cars. Will plug-n-play in the E36 cars at a minimum...I can't say about others. It also includes the optional ipod adaptor cable and a non-powered BMW-to-standard antenna plug adaptor.

$225 shipped in the US for head unit and ipod adaptor. Includes all books, packaging, accessories -- all in perfect condition.

PM with interest or questions.

I was contemplating buying one of these instead of the cd43.
I have positive experience with Panasonic goods in the past. I have had one of their in-dash units and 2 of their boomboxes.
Please explain what you mean when you say you would "rather have better integration with some of my other-branded accessories".
My concern is the sheer volume of music I have, and I would really like to be able to do mp3 files. The radio from a previous vehicle yielded countless mp3 cd compilations. Burning 12 files to a cd for the cd43 doesn't make sense, but I will if I have to.
I have the 6 DVD set of The History Of The BillBoard Top 100: 1940's-2000. 12,000 titles, all mp3.
The Panasonic looks sweet on the BavSoundWerks site. How did you like the color matching? I am colorblind, but no one in my family is. Constant harrassment. LOL.

the color match is pretty good for an aftermarket unit. it varies depending on the ambient light (when it's really bright, like direct sunlight, the color washes a bit), but it's pretty good with less intense ambient lighting conditions and really good at night.

it plays mp3's no problem, but not from a dvd. you'd need to either burn those to an mp3 cd (like the compilations you already have) or put them on an mp3 player/ipod that you connect to one of the aux inputs.

i had a CD43 at one time, and while nothing beats it for color match, it has no flexibility for mp3's. the trafficpro units also color match and have an aux input that can be tapped easier than the cd changer input on the CD43, but they don't play mp3's directly, either.

as for my other-branded accessories, i'm basically talking about my pioneer xm receiver. the reason i didn't buy a pioneer head unit in the first place was that i was sour on the standard display color: blue. in hindsight, i'd rather have the blue display and the easy xm install that would go with it.

this is really nothing more than me being fickle. and someone will get a good deal on this panasonic unit because of it.

Are you interested in trading for a Pioneer DEH-P3500, also prewired for install in an E36? You could actually keep your antenna adapter, and I'll keep mine. That way you can use your Pioneer XM unit directly.

Let me know if you're interested.

No problem, just figured I'd throw it out there just in case.

If you change your mind though, let me know. I might be willing to throw in a little cash to sweeten things up a bit... lol

I installed the same one in my car last week. i like it alot. looks and blends well with the interior. I paid 150 for mine brand new from crutchfield, and came with wire adapter, install diagrams, and antenna adapter. interesting that you sold it for that much.

the last crutchfield price i saw was $170. and i also sold it with a $50 ipod adaptor cable. the buyer had value for the fact that it was prewired, so he only had to plug and play...
