View Full Version : 98 M3 VS. Cooper type-s
redlinerjetta 05-14-2007, 07:15 PM Well there i was driving from va to deup rt13n. so ive been driving for about 2 hours. and i come up to the fast part of the trip. Rt 13 bypass. 65 mph. Yea not many roads around here with that speed. so im cruising 75mph. cops wont bother you 10 and under. Huhhhh 20 minutes left till im home. O whats that in the distance comming up quick. Aww its a little mini cooper type-s. so cute. :D Well im bored and he pulls up behind me. he sits there for a minute. im gonna wait till he comes around. O there he goes. as he flys up beside me im already out of fifth. drop down to forth look over at him we lock up eyes. i smile. he laughs. so as he has the jump on me. and already pulling away. i nail fourth. O boy she's a screamin. and i even up with him and keep leaving him up to about 120. then his h.i.d.'s are in the distance. and i come back down to 75 or so. now he dosent want to speed for some reason. all well a nice way to round up my long trip and wake me up a little.

Sa///M3 05-14-2007, 07:21 PM Nice kill :). Always wondered how those coopers match up with the E36.

1. sorry i didnt know this was english class.
2. How about beating a sti from 60 to 140?
The HACK 05-14-2007, 08:13 PM How is this a "nice kill?" Do we need to define what a "nice kill" is?
MCS: 170 HP, FWD, 2,900 lbs. 0-60 in 7.0 seconds.
E36 M3: 240 HP, RWD, 3,100 lbs, 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.
The OP can be driving an AUTOMATIC M3 and the MCS a stick and it still wouldn't be a contest. Even with the MCS getting a jump.
Do you go pat Kobe on the back when he dunks on some high school scrub's @ss and say "good job?" Do you go "way to go" when Spoonface goes postal against a 300lbs lard ass on the kart track? Do you go hang up banners that says "Mission Accomplished" when the U.S. armed forces go bomb the sh*t out of a third world country?
Oh wait, that last one is a bad analogy.
3LtrdakarM3 05-14-2007, 08:14 PM nice kill

Who cares im just telling what happened. What do people say when an m3 whoops a stock ricer with a pipe that egged him on?
sometimes you have to put them in there place.
DocDuvi 05-14-2007, 08:43 PM hahah mcs sux !!

Don't worry about Rogozhin, he's always saying gay ass stuff. Look at the quote right above the Saab picture for God sake. I would hate to meet this guy in real life.
Rogozhin 05-15-2007, 12:27 AM I'm a decent guy only when I'm corresponding with decent people.
Most of you are good guys, you just can't take criticism about your worthless cars (all of our cars will be worthless).

Decent? You seem to provoke anyone who posts on the forum.

Most people on this forum are decent. You however act as if your better then the rest....There wasnt any reason to say "daddys gas". I am willing to bet he pays for it on his own. So please stop trolling.
Rogozhin 05-15-2007, 12:49 AM Great KILL Red! I'm very proud of you! Way to destroy that Mini!
I appologize for saying that your father paid for your gas-I sure hope it didn't cause you any psychological pain!
May you roll deep once again on another mini-I'm glad most of the other BMW owners support you!
Best

Not that it matters, but 0-60 in 5.2 seconds? Not on this planet :)

O yea i know. there so small. and can get quite fast.
I see your from maryland. im from lower de. ever go to ocean city? trying to find some people around that area to get together.
BMWdisease 05-15-2007, 04:36 PM The mini was making a little better time on the highway than you, he caught you, tucked behind, then decided to pass you, in all likelihood simply to resume his faster pace, you challenged him, he didn’t bite, and somehow it’s a kill? Oh brother.
flannelhippie 05-15-2007, 05:00 PM [quote=The HACK;9533910]MCS: 170 HP, FWD, 2,900 lbs. quote]
MCS weighs 2550lbs.:confused

Yeahhh been to OC numerous times, got bored + sick of cops on the way to OC.. so many tickets :help.. if you could, come down to N.Va.. alot hotter bms..
PutterMcGavin 05-15-2007, 10:11 PM Although more rare than the MCS, my dad had a JCW version (John Cooper Works). It is an $8k package that includes a larger supercharger, high flow heads, larger fuel injectors, remapped ECU, intake, etc. I think they're rated at something like 210 hp?
My dad also added a cowl intake and a smaller pulley kit and some other items and I know he had to be at at least 230. The thing was fun as heck! It was like a go cart on steroids and pretty quick. I remember taking an on ramp in it and absolutely destroyed a Boxster S (the quicker version)...
I'm sure it would give an e36 M3 a run for its money! Then again you'd just have to laugh at a Mini pulling you :D
bimmerfixr 05-15-2007, 10:19 PM Its a Cooper! The driver was probably wearing pink pants.

I think you'd never be able to outrun the criticism no matter what you drove. Show up on a Porsche board with a 928 and see what happens. LOL
Myself, along with the other Veterans appreciate your service.:buttrock
Nice run too BTW.
