Hi all, I've been putting BP 91 in my M3, but I just noticed the other day that a label says 10% ethanol is added in the 91. Is this normal? What brand doesn't have Ethanol added?

Some cars...in particular Japanese makes, have had some O2 Sensor issues with Ethanol, but I have not heard of it having a problem with the M3. The HACK 05-14-2007, 02:02 PM Ethanol is becoming more common since the war. Ethanol is becoming more common because most states REQUIRES it as an oxygenate instead of MTBE. You're thinking of E85, which is 85% ethanol and 15% gas. Dave Dunbar 05-14-2007, 09:50 PM No, I'm not. My state has no such requirements in place, yet. However, in my area I have seen a signifcant jump in Ethanol since 2004. Coincidence with the war... ??? Ferris 05-14-2007, 11:06 PM Coincidence with the war... ??? Not really it was the corn lobbists sneaking in since MTBE was banned. thooper41 05-15-2007, 01:43 AM question E85 is cheaper then reg. right? supreme is reg. with ethanol added to it but only like 10% or so to boost the octane right? shouldnt it be cheaper then the regular then? ffchun 05-21-2007, 01:41 AM what makes you so sure that gas is gas....as long it doesn't knock or freezes your sure its some type of fuel for a 50k auto |
