I've used Zaino on previous cars, all being silver or a derivative of a silver, and honestly thought it wasn't better than any other wax on the market. I've seen some colors and black look good with it, but I can't say if it made a huge difference on the cars I've seen with 15 coats.

So, since I had the wax sitting in the garage, I figured I'd throw it on.

My procedure was

Wash
Claybar (Meguairs)
Z2, Z5

First the bottle claims it removes small swirls. The dealer put a nice set of swirls in my Black Sapphire paint, and I thought it would be a good test before use the orbital and get them out correctly.

Swirls are still there...nothing in the way of "removal" happened. It's what I figured since after attending the Meguairs detail class I understand how you have to removed them (always knew you can't fill imperfections...all wax does that).

Ease of use-It is an easy wax to put on and take off no complaints there.

Shine/Depth-Eh, I'm still not impressed. Sure it looks better than it did before, and I'm sure it put a nice coat of protection, but not better than the Meguairs, or other waxes I've tried.

I'm still confused how I had a 98 Neon R/T that was swirl free for years, and all I used was a T-Shirt and wax at the car wash, and my new paint is swirled and doesn't look as wet as I think it should...maybe it's time to return to old T-Shirts and $5 wax and ditch the micro fiber, nano waxes, and special sauces we use.

I"m starting to think the harder a wax is to put on the better it is...

Is your question about removing the swirls or is Zaino any better than other polish/wax. Did you try to get them out by hand or did you use a machine? If a machine, which pads did you use? I can tell you that a good swirl scratch/swirl remover product and a machine with the right pads will eliminate most if not all of your swirl marks and make your car look fantastic. You just need to find the right product for the job. What you used (and possibly the method) was not aggressive enough.

Oh I know it takes a machine, that's what I learned at the Meguiars class, the right tool and the right polish.

I just commented on the "swirl removing ability" of a product that even with a machine would not be able to remove swirl from ice cream.

Some pictures because a thread about wax without pictures is waxing off...

Sorry for the quality, my home digi is a pile.

One small problem might be the fact that you used the products in the wrong order. You should have used Z5 then Z2. But, with black you are probably right - Zaino probably will not remove swirl marks. From everything I have read and heard, Z5 helps remove swirls when used more than once. Zaino does have a new product called Z-PC Fusion that is supposed to clean the paint and remove swirls.

I read the bottles and used the one that is supposed to remove swirls first, which was Z5...I may have forgot which one was what when I posted. But the bottom line is that there is nothing that can remove swirls that isn't abrasive, which I don't think any of these are.

I'm going to go to the Meguairs HQ and sit through their class to get a discount on the orbital and work the swirl out.

Zaino's Z-PC Fusion is abrasive. I would have to see how bad your car is, but I don't anyone who has used the correct Zaino product and not been impressed.
I'm not accusing you, but some people down Zaino just because a ton of people swear by it.

Like I posted, I don't see it being any better than other waxes, and I've used lots. The dealer put a good set of swirls in the paint (thank you black paint).

The Z-PC may be decent at getting swirl out, but I need the buffer, and will probably use the Meguiars professional series, because they show it working at their class, and I've seen it work. Very impressive, and they support the detail community and car community out here big time.

Is Zaino a good wax, yes. I bought it because everybody loved it...but I fail to see it doing more than other waxes of the synthetic base.
