Just got my wife a Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8G MP3 player. She has the Logic7 systems with an 3.5mm MP3 input in the center console. Do I simply want a 3.5mm male/male connector that plugs into the headphone jack on the player, and the othe end to the aux input in the car? I don't want to invest in the $319 adapter - I'm assuming all I need is the proper cable from the player to the input jack to get this to work. I understand if I use a simple cable for this, I must control the playlist etc. from the player and not the head unit, correct? I appreciate the suggestions.

Thanks - Phil

Unless you got the IPOD option you have to use the AUX in. If you got the IPOD adapter using the USB cord that came with your car should work.

That's the issue. I don't have the iPod adaptor (nor do I have an iPod for that matter). I plan to use the Aux in - so, do I just need a simple cable with 3.5mm males on either end??

Yep - all you need is a simple 3.5 mm male to male cable to use your mp3 player. I picked one up from Radio Shack for about $3. The headphone out connection on your mp3 player will work, but if it has an Auxilary out port, I've heard that sounds better. My mp3 player doesn't have one so I can't compare.

Perfect - thank you! I'll get one and give it a try. Appreciate the suggestion.

all you need is the male-to-male cable, but I suggest you get on of the nicer ones they sell at radioshack. The radio-shack branded ones are either 6 feet or 12", at least that's what they had at my store.

I found a section of IPOD related stuff and they had a 2 or 3 foot cord, which is great. the 6' is just too long, it makes a mess and takes up too much space in the center console. the 12" is just too short, hard to use the ipod while driving that's for sure.

Hey, does anybody know if I can get the new Ipod adapter retro-fitted into my o6 E90 330i?
