hey guys
the past thursday night i had the chance to run a nissan sentra... the old two door body style.. now at this point i bet most of you are like...."whats the point" the point is.. it was sr20det... stock but i gave him props on haveing the engine in his car... we ran twice from a role start.
first race he was in front buy about a bumber but he was like in forth gear while i was digging in third and pulling him... second race was the better one we were dead even till i pulled third ahead of him... all in all it was a pretty even race for him being stock and me as well.... but if it had been from a stop i think it wouldent have mattered if he had that engine or not....

next me and this guy with a mustang gt plan to run an 8th from a dead stop... we'll see lol

I LOVE those SE-Rs. But it shouldn't have been close, unless you've got an auto or something.

Actually, you're wrong. I ran a 15.00 with my old 1992 Sentra SE-R (college commuter) with only an intake and advanced timing for mods on a bad clutch. I also stayed even with a friend's modded 5.0 GT on the freeway with the same mods, though his off-the-line torque has him beating me by a car to 90 from a stop.

Stock, they already have an SR20DE that's ready to hold up to 400 boosted WHP just the way it is (tuned right). If your friend REALLY had an SR20DET, you wouldn't have stood a chance whatsoever.

I believe your story. I just think you misunderstood him saying that he has an "SR20DE", and thought you heard a "T". OR he did turbocharge his SR20DE (STILL not an "SR20DET"), and did a crappy job of it.

If he is calling his turbocharged SR20DE a DET, tell him it isn't the same, and to tune his car right.

no it was a bluebird (checked the engine code)... its just...well that car had seen better days in its life time... his had a manual boost controller on it at one time and had taken it off for a road trip to save gas.... from what i could tell the FMIC had major holes in his pipes (which were rubber btw) and he has boost leak problems...

Ah, I see. Great engine, bad maintenance. Tell him to get cracking on the upkeep, or the money he spent on the swap will have been for nothing.
