I have a 02' m3 due for a inspection 2 pretty soon, and I have noticed recently in neutral at stop lights that my car shakes pretty hard. The car seems to drive fine without any peformance decreases, but has come across my attention. Anyone have any pointers on why it's shaking???

Well, here's a thing that happened to me. I too noticed a "vibration" -- worse at idle. I thought a cylinder was misfiring. Power seemed normal though which I thought was odd if a cylinder was misfiring.

Turned out the fan clutch had seized and force the fan to run at full engine rpm. When running up to 7-8k the fan was direct drive from the engine and it through a couple of the blades.

The dealer replaced the fan clutch and fan (it was under warranty at the time); problem solved.
