Officially starting the topic. I know that Jeremy at Matrix Engineering got their new Dyno and I want to get my car done.

I figure lets see if we can save a few bucks as well as get a group of bimmer enthusiasts together for the day.

Here are the basic details:

$600 for the day

I think we should be able to get 10 cars done in the day depending on how many runs we limit it to. 10 cars at 45 minutes each seems about right but Jeremy would have to confirm that.

Worst case scenerio we would be looking at $60 each.

I would like to see this happen on a Saturday if possible since most of us work the normal mon-fri thing.

Anyone interested? One saturday in March?

Ill have to confirm with Jeremy what dates are open but i kinda wanted to see what interest there was first. If we dont get 10 then Ill just pay the normal $75 and go alone :(

I just bought my M coupe on Saturday...sure would like to see what kind of ponies I am putting down to the wheels. So long as I do not have to work on the Saturday in question, I am in!

From the interest on DTM it looks like March 15th, March 22, or April 5th

Right now I have a poll on DTM that has 3 votes for the 15th so that looks like the date we will be shooting for.

Ill probably post in that thread again towards the end of the week.

If you are definately up for the 15th then let me know. I would like to get 10 people in on it to make it worth while. Of course people always back out of these things at the last minute so the cost could vary a bit depending on the people. But less people means more dyno runs.

I am definitely not up for the 15th. I have a class to attend on the 15th, and that just won't work unless we start the dyno at 4pm!

Updated info: I got a 10% discount for the dyno so total cost will be $540. This will enable us to go with 9 people and still pay $60 each. Plus it will give us each 1hr of dyno time.

Do you want to find someone for that 11:00am time slot? I have a friend that might like to get his SC'd S2000 dynoed...

Not yet.

I posted on one of the audi forums last night as well.

First come first serve. As soon as we get our 9th person I will request that we send Matrix the money.

Nick and Byron,

Jeremy has not received payment yet. Please call him and give him a CC# for the $60 ASAP.

Call him at 503.443.1141

----------------------

If anyone else is interested there might be a 10:00-11:00 spot open due to another person not responding to my emails.

I left a message for him yesterday morning. He called back an hour later when I was in traffic court, and you know what, I have called back almost a dozen times now, and each time I have received a busy signal. Payment will come when the phone is answered.

Thanks Byron,

Gotcha down. Im sure you wont bogue out on me :)

What about your friend with the Honda S2K. Think he would be interested if someone doesnt respond? The guy at 10:00am hasnt responded to any of my emails.

It would be from 10 to 11am right? I will give him a call and see...I know he is dying to see how much hp his new blower/exhaust has him up to!

Ya 10-11am. There is a guy on DTM that said he wanted the spot but he has not paid nor has he responded to emails.

Call your friend and see if he is interested in the spot if this other guy does not get back to me.

I would like to have all of this sorted out ASAP so that people dont have to cough up any more money for the dyno day.

Jeremy just called me back, so I officially paid and out of the hot water! My friend Gavin has not gotten back with me yet on that dyno spot. I will keep you posted....

-Bryon <-------Note that its Bryon not Byron! :laugh :boink No worries, I am used to it...

whooops.... sorry Bryon :)

Erin actually got ahold of me for the 10:00 spot and I think we are all set now. Nick is the only one left to pay and I think he has a call into Jeremy now.

Peace...

Hey Kevin, thanks for setting this up! The guys at Matrix were good to work with, and I will likely be going back there when I get a few upgrades for the Coupe!

Alright guys, post your dynos graphs! I lost a few hp from having a dirty filter, but other than that, it looks alright for stock:

PDX///M
03-16-2003, 07:50 PM
Number seem awful low to me but what can i say...

I do know that Erin's stock 95M3 put down 204rwhp and Matt's was around 212rwhp with a chip and CAI.

Marty's 2002 M Coupe put down 276rwhp which is about right for the 315-326hp BMW lists it at.

Bryon, when you say 99M Coupe are you saying 2dr M3 or the actual M coupe? Just curious since I had to leave before you showed up.

Also, post the actual a/f torque/hp chart if you have it. It is better than the front page they gave you.

When I say M coupe, I mean just that, not M3 coupe. 99 M coupe with an S52. Rated at 240hp by BMW (that rating when up to 315 in 2001 (s54)). I have been told that 214 peak to the wheels on a mustang dyno indicates about 250 crank, which is consistant with the phenom. of stock M coupes dynoing a tad higher than stock M3s of the same year (99). I will post the other graph when I get home!

cool, that sounds about right

I don't have access to a scanner at the moment, but I have to say I was pretty happy with my car's dyno results.

temp: 55 degrees
humidity: 100%

Mustang Dyno

9/95 M3
111k+ miles
Jim C. chip
ECIS CAI
slightly larger diameter rear tires: 245/40 17s wrapped around 17x9 Alpinas

peak rwhp: 211
peak rwtq: 202

Assuming 17% drivetrain loss, crank hp is around 254, torque around 243 lb/ft. I was happy to find that the torque curve was very flat, rising quickly at lower revs, peaking at 4150 rpm, and not falling much until well into the rev range. I have to say I'm very pleased with those numbers; nothing too exciting, but solid for a 7+ year-old 110k+ mile car.

Quick question: my O2 sensor needs. Would a new O2 sensor affect hp and torque readings by its ability to better signal to the ECU how well the fuel/air ratio is combusting, and adjusting accordingly? :az:

Cheers!
