I am Keith, in Scotland and have finally purchased an 850i, rhd, 1991, Blue with cream leather. It is dual fuel and has had inappropriate (IMHO) 'M' wheels put on with very low profile tyres. The problem is that it drops out of cruise control at odd intervals between 2 and 20+ seconds after setting cruise. I have no schematics or wiring diagrams so am stymied. Is this a 'usual problem'? Is there an easy fix? Is it easy to lay hands on diagrams, schematics etc? It's a lovely car being spoiled by an irritating problem. Please help, Thanks in advance, Keith

Brake light switch, clutch switch, ASC, automatic transmission module all are in the drop out circuit.

Is the ASC light on?

Hold the clutch/brake pedals up with your toes and see if it changes the drop out time.

With an auto hold the selector lever slightly back or slightly forward and see if it improves.
