On the e36 M3 and e30 rear you need to use an allen socket to remove the caliber and then regular sockets to get off caliper bracket.

On the e46 non-m what size is that allen. I am a tech and I have what I think is all the sizes I could possibly need but I don't want it to be some weird size that I happen to not have :)

7 mm. but I almost never remove the caliper from the bracket. just take off the whole caliper. two 16 mm bolts.
