For the Electronics, download the '87 ETM, It contains the wiring diagrams of both the 635 and the M6 so you can compare the electrical differences side by side. '87 is the first year for the U.S M6 and in 88/89 there were quite a few changes in the 635.

Oops! I just saw that you are from Toronto. Did Canada get a Euro spec car or a US spec car ?

it's the wiring harness (everything from the ECU on down), and the cooling system, but I think other than that, it's pretty straight forward.
Assuming you've got a manual tranny'd car, I think it'll bolt right up.
things I can't remember about previously discussed swaps are the tachometer in the instrument cluster and the speedo - I can't remember if those need to be swapped or re-calibrated in any fashion.
the differential would be a different ratio, of course, but lots of folks have swapped out diff's from M's to non-M's and vice versa.
it's costly though, a running M88 or S38 will cost you a good 5 grand.
that's just the engine, not radiator, electronics, etc. so those things add up - it's just about as cost effective to sell your car and buy a straight M. HAving said that, however, folks have done it.

Been there, done that. Not that bad but much easier with a complete donor vehicle. They are a few things that may not be included with just an engine. Radiator, air box assembly, relocate battery engine harness, oil cooler and computer. The other wiring can be adapted by using wiring diagrams. That may not be everything but it has been done and hase been done in e3/e9 cars as well.
Here is a running S38 complete for $2500, Wish I lived closer, I would get it if only for a spare at that price. No affiliation etc. etc.

Maybe consider a modified M30 from Metric Mechanic, 260 HP or more with a ton of torque and no conversion.
