Well, the title kinda said it all, right?
OK, my racecar is for sale. It is fully prepped and sorted to win in SCCA Autocross/SoloII competition. It is also a pretty damn good track car, and could be the basis for a very competitive BMWCCA, SCCA, or NASA roadrace car with a few changes for whatever particular class it runs in. I have thousands upon thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of blood, sweat, tears, tequila, and god knows what else in the build and development time invested. Divorce prompts my reluctant sale of this car, but hey, freedom don't come cheap!!! We (Brian Flanagan and Cliff Rosenburg) won or trophied in every event we entered this car in over the last few years, National Tours, Pro Solos, Divisional autocrosses, local jams, Nationals.... The amount of success this car has brought me was unprecedented in my driving career. She has been a good one!
So, you might ask, what's it got? OK, a quick look at the list, what I can remember tonight (and it's almost sleepy-time):
1997 BMW 328is
Factory non-sunroof car, no worries about legality by doing the delete yourself
White exterior, Tan interior, all in good shape
A/C stripped (though I have the parts if you wanna put it back)
TC Kline custom-valved double-adjustable front Konis, Cad-plated, threaded collar, height-adjustable
TC Kline custom-valved rear Konis, externally-adjustable
H&R rear threaded height-adjusters/weight jackers
Eibach ERS 2.5" race front springs, spring rates disclosed to buyer @ sale
H&R race rear springs, spring rates disclosed to buyer @ sale
UUC "Swaybarbarian" adjustable front swaybar
Front strut brace
M3 offset front caster bushings
Vorshlag/Motorforce front camber/caster plates, the best available
1-pc race seats, driver side mounted on custom slider to accomodate drivers of different heights
M50/S50 M3 high flow composite intake manifold
Cosmos Racing long-tube Cold Air Intake
K&N Filter
Turner Motorsports ECU program
Fidanza aluminum flywheel, 9.5 lbs if I recall correctly
Sachs race clutch
3.15 LSD diff
3" Short exhaust with Flowmaster 2-chamber muffler and turndown with silencing cone (ends behind driver to save weight)
Rolled and widened fenders (not flared but stretched considerably)
Momo Millenium 350mm leather steering wheel
18x9.5 ASA JH8 5-spoke lightweight rims, black spoke w/polished lip, set of 4
18x9 SSR Competition rims, ultralights, charcoal spokes, polished lip, set of 4
Factory BMW M3 rims, 17", set of 4
285/30R18 Kumho V710's, worn but they were good enough to win the National Tour and Pro Solos at Walnut Ridge this year!!!
285/30R18 Kumho V710's, BRAND NEW, bagged & stored indoors, set of 4
245/40R17 Hoosier Wet Radials, BRAND NEW, bagged and stored indoors, set of 4
I know there is more that I am forgetting. Chassis shows 160k miles, engine has about 65k on it, give or take. Clutch, all suspension, bushings, etc all have less than 5k miles on them. Car is in very nice condition, the fenders are stretched to the point of deforming a little, but you have to pay attention to notice. The right front has a little peeling , easily covered by a sticker or repaired. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am picky about the way my car looks, and have kept it up as such, stored it indoors, waxed it frequently, kept it protected, etc. Car currently has a great-looking adaptation of the factory BMW Motorsport Flag graphics up each side done in vinyl (so it is removeable). Car has gotten lots of attention and appeared on several local TV sports segments in different cities we raced in last year after the graphics were done, so it gets LOTS of media attention. I'd love to show it off if I could figure out how to post pics on here, but email me and I will gladly email pics to you. Car is nice, never been bent, and is ready to race!
I feel that in the right hands, this car could very well contend for a national title.
In the past year, Matteucci's green monster and David Fauth's Bimmerhaus 325is both sold for mid-high teens. Both cars had a bit more pedigree than this one, but this has run competitively against both cars and been VERY close, even with my big ass driving it. A little more time with a lighter and sharper driver, who knows? Anyway, I think mine's a steal at $12,500. I WILL ENTERTAIN OFFERS!!! I can deliver up to 500 miles for $1.25 a loaded mile, after funds have been transferred.
Please contact me by email at BMWJunky@ya hoo . com or call me @ 423/309-7208 with any questions!
Thanks,
Brian Flanagan
