Something really is messing with my head..

After seeing what the 335i has to offer and me actually going heads up with one with my G35. I ponder the thought of man should I have brought one instead of the G35. I’m about to do a lill something something to the G in the next few months that will put me ova the edge but before I do this I want to get a few ideas on what could do, I trade the G35 in for the 335i cause it has a lot of potential or stick with my original plan and keep the G35 and force it full of air…

What do you think?

Get the 335i!

I went to LACR and there were bunch of G35's and 350Z's. I raced a handful of them and spanked everyone hard! Of course the 335i had the twin turbo direct injection advantage!

look at it this way 40k on the 335i 300/300 or 5k for boost on G35 and puts me at 390 @ wheels.

If your G35 is a coupe then that's my pick purely based on looks. Otherwise I think the 4-door G35 looks more horrid than it's 335i counter-part.

yeah you can get 390whp out of a turbo G, but just think about what you can do with the same amount of money on the 335i. supersprint already has a full exhaust kit out for the 335i and vishnu has a ecu reprog. you get full torque at 1400 RPM, on the G its much higher than that. plus side is that the 335 is lighter, and the technology behind the e90 is much better also

G35's and Z's are EVERYWHERE. Boosted bimmers aren't everywhere. 335 FTW.

335...

People have been getting 330whp without exhausts w/vushnu programming... through in a full exhaust and some other goodies, and you'll be close to maybe past the 350whp mark.

You are only questioning this because your e36 has got you liking the German engineering side of the car industry. You wouldn't be asking otherwise. I would jump on the 335i. You will be greatly pleased.

If you ask on a BMW forum, you are going to get BMW bias answers and opinions.

If you ask on a G35 forum, you are going to get G35 bias answers and opinions.

But here's my $0.02. If you want to go FI, buy a car that came FI'ed from the factory, you will run into far less problems.

If the g35 is a coupe I'd definitely keep that and turbo it if there is a reliable standalone option out there. I wouldn't trust a piggyback on a 40k car.

JUANNNNNN what up stranger..lol how's FL life or did u move to TX yet. I like the 335i but now that they have a 535i i might look into that one still (M5) my fav oneday. I think im still gonna keep my G35 thou.. its the coupe not sedan. I see somethin in the g35 which i really like to make a sleeper since the G37 will be out at the end of the year. I wanna have something to play around when that model comes out. but I may look at the 535i once its been out for a while.

good hearing from you again.. pm me your num bro.

With the amount you are going to lose on the trade-in, keep the G35 and do whatever you want to it. Personally, I am against turboing the G35 too....but that's my personal belief.

If you must have an FI'ed sedan, mess with the G35 since you are going to lose a significant amount by trading in a newer car.

what have you put into the g35?

Cause the 335 will pull on 350z's, let alone a g35.

I have seen my tuner speedforceracing.com churn out some badass G35s. 500whp, 600whp...Twin turbo with twin intake manifold plenums. One with dual TB and one with single TB. Body kit, carbon fiber trunk lid, wingless, tinted black rear tails, deep dish...beautiful. Everyone has an opinion of course. To me the 335 is a decent looking car if it wasn't a BMW but being an enthusiast it's hard to get that BMW feeling from it. Other thing is that how far will those tiny little turbos go. It will be interesting if they can figure out tuning after market turbo(s) for more power. If they can't, then 340ishwhp isn't a limit you want.

One thing my tuner did tell me is the trannies in the G35/350Z are junked very easily.

If you were talking about the G35 sedan then that would be a whole different story. Crazy that the coupe really does look that much better.

very true words Cam the tuning for G35s are endless. I even had one tuner tell me with 25k ill turn your G into a Z06 killa.. naa no thanxz.. I love BMWs to death and always say I would never get into an asian car again.. now look I have two..lol

now adays cars are coming out with a lot of power stock.. AM cars are hittin hard bringin back the AM mussle big blocks like thay always have to compete with our imports. question is will BMW be willing to make more powerful cars like the M sers or introducing more powerful turbos to compete in todays market then get upset when people like us want to take It to the next step by change/build/tune our cars. But as I see it as technology gets better in the years to come its gonna be a lot harder to modify these cars for max boost without having problems later on. Something will give... nothing is unbreakable.

G35 6mt is stock at the moment. I went against a stock 335 auto with a driver who's not really experience in my view.. the car is fast even as I looked in my rear view he was always riding my azz.. but still I did get that upperhand an was always ahead a half of car lenth.

that is the facts.

The G35 is being replaced by the G37 this year making over 330hp. Should be a good run against the 335
