Plans:
Meet up at the park, have a meet and greet, barbecue. Have a cruise at 5 pm or so, getting back a bit before the sun goes down. (Route to be determined)
People who are close by can come by for the meet and cruise. People farther can either camp at the park, or they can stay at one of the nearby hotels (if they don't take off for home).

We will rent a pavilion for $150. I'll front the money, and accept donations ONLY up to $150. Entry to the park is $9 for CT-registered cars, $14 for non-CT registered cars. A campsite is $15 + fees.

I don't think that I'll be able to make this one...I have a friend coming in from out of town and we are going into the city to see a show. I do think that this is a great spot to have regular meets tho...a nice drive and a day at the beach...what could be better? I would be happy to chip in on pavillion fees the next time around...and seeing that this seems to be a..er ehem..."green" friendly crowd...even better. Have a great time guys!

Liz (~bimmergirl~) will probably be driving through Providence to meet up with me and a couple of other people here in Killingly, CT (where I-395 and route 6 meet), where we'll take 395 to 95 to the park. If you feel any better about at least driving with a group, that could help.

I have a date and a party to go to that day ALONG with work in the morning. Driving from southern Mass, to southern CT BACK to southern Mass., doesn't sound too fun to me.

I know a couple were handed out. $75 ticket. Not sure how many, though.

I'm guessing since it's a state park, we're talking about state troopers here, not the locals in blue. I keep my plate in the pocket behind the passenger seat in case, but I wonder whether it is ever really possible to talk your way out of one of those citations. All in all though, $75 is a price I'd be be willing to pay to keep my bumper clean.

I totally agree with you. Mine was in the map pocket on the pass door. I threw it up but it didnt help. Still got a ticket. I for one am going to plead not guilty. We had a good time and im glad it came together dispite the rain.

I forgot to ask as we were getting thrown out if anyone needed dated pics of their cars with license plates in the front windshield, those cops were pissed. Thank you. The car is still a work in progress. I had hoped to install the Euro lights yesterday morning but ran out of time. I'm also going to shadowline all of the trim. Your E38 looked great, too. I love the way those cars look, I just can't justify buying such a big car.
Years ago I live in Clinton, right on the Hammonasett river (you can see my old place from Hammonasett) and I commuted to Middletown everyday (up 81). There are a lot of great roads in that area. In fact I've been able to break into the triple digits on the twisty section of 81. The entrance to 9 from 81 is my favorite. But given that it was fairly cold yesterday and I'm running R-compound tires, plus the dog and the woman were in the car, I didn't take 81, so I wouldn't be tempted to try it again.
I used to do that 40 mile commute in about 45 minutes and when it snowed I did the commute 55 minutes. I loved that drive to work. I just didn't like the drive home.
The car went into the garage when I got home yesterday and hasn't moved yet, so it must have been someone else you saw.

Sorry I didnt make it but I am glad I didnt because I would rather not get a ticket, fuckin cops ruining all our fun.
