Hey peoples
I'm installing my DDE IV into BOsch headlights. And i was wondering if any people have any tips on installing them. I believe that the Bosch headlights are unique to australia.
thanks for any help in advance.

Don't f*ck up!
Nah - watch out for the cabling. Very easy to have one hanging down too low (check out the right one on my car). Gonna fix it again soon.

damn allen, they look a lot brighter than mine!
but like blown3 said, dont fuck up!
- just dont let any of the cables dangle and make sure that all the lenses fit right.. a neat install looks 100% better!
- take out your park light bulbs
- becareful the drill doesnt catch and crack the healight housing..
- dont touch the inside of the halogen bulb or it will blow..
- dont put the optic fibres too close to the bulb in the light box as the tips will burn and make you lights go brown!
- make sure you clean all of the silicone you cut out of the headlight, this also gives you a chance to wipe out the years worth of road grime from inside of your headlights
if you take the time to do it properly it will come out looking really nice :D
if theres anything that troubles you dont hesitate to ask :)
i hear babbo is quite an accomplished installer also!
maybe he can help out also!
edit: with the drilling, you will need to drill a total of 3 holes..
one on the end of the light housing, two in between the head lamps, and the last hole you get by taking out a useless plastic clip!
p.s.make sure that you drill them high so the cables run across the top of the headlight and arent to exposed. cover the cables with some kind of black heat wrap so that no light is visible, will make the rings less visible..

cheers, thanks for the answers so far.
The bosch headlights, the outer casing (like the bit facing the road) is that glass or plastic. Mines a bit pitted so is there anyway to clean them up a bit. I've seen stuff about polishing them but I'm guessing it will only work if they are plastic.
Blown, do you have the blue filter on your lightbox? or are the halogens that white to start with?

we're lucky to have the euro ellipsoid light as standard so the outer casing is actually glass.
you can get it polished by glass polishers (guys who normally take the scratches out of windows) but i doubt it would make much of a difference.
if they are dirty wipe the insides and out with some grease & wax remover or a multi-purpose cleaner
