UUC sells replacement clutch pedal bushings that are better than the stock ones - check their web site for details. They also have all the installation instructions online, so you can see for yourself how to install them.
Installation wasn't too hard of a DIY job - the only bad thing is the awkward position of working under the dash. Otherwise, the work isn't too complicated - should be able to do the installation in an hour or so.

Jim--
Have you seen any detailed instructions on this project posted anywhere? I have taken the dash apart to look where it needs to go and man is it deep up there!!
There has got to be an easier way to go about it than to remove all that wiring/OBD stuff to make room to get at it.
pearls of wisdom would be appreciated.

Did you look on the UUC web site? Like I said before, they have the full instructions on how to install their clutch pedal bushings. Can't get much more detailed than that.
What are you talking about, removing wiring/OBD stuff? You just have to remove the panel under the dash on the driver's side - if you have an OBD-2 car, there's a diagnostic port on that panel that you have to disconnect to get the panel off. 2 connectors. No big deal.
Sheesh - this fix isn't really that difficult, just awkward.

What is the squeaky clutch issue?
On my 99 M3....when I engage all the way and begin to let off on the clutch....it sounds like the bottom of my shoe/sandal is making this RUBBING sound. The clutch itself feels fine I think.....just a horrible rub....real loud and defined sound.

The fix is cheap and easy....get a set of bushings from the dealer, actually get two sets they're only a few dollars each...I've replaced mine twice in 8 yrs...takes about 30 min...very easy .....no speacial tools ....the bushings are plastic and install with your fingers....the upgrade is nice but IMO not worth the money....and the noise is gone...for a few yrs.........Karl
