Does anyone out there know if there is a software upgrade or if any shop has the ability to speed up the shifts with the SMG? 8 tenths of a second is WAY TOO long.I am looking for the speed of the Ferrari 430 or the Lambo's they shift within 2 tenths of a second.PLEASE HELP!!!!

You can have that speed in your shifts for about 220,000. I think Ferrari of Atlanta has an F430 on the lot Hah. There's a reason Ferrari's shift that fast..the technology and the $ that come along with it. Look into AA tuning if you want some more ooomph. Their software helps. A friend of mine has it on his M6

UNless I'm mistaken and you're joking, there are about 8 different shift settings on the M6 SMG from the factory. The quickets being maybe 8 MILLI seconds, not .8 seconds, hell, my automatic 98 528 shifts faster than that.
So I think you're joking, or just ignorant of your car's capabilities.
Hope that helps.

I've been thinking about it and what I'm remembering reading in various Roundel's and car magazine's is that the fastest shift mode is either .006 seconds or .004 seconds, not .008 seconds.
maybe you have it set in "lazy old guy that drives slow" mode. :D :lol (I'm just poking fun at you here, please don't take offense)

Drivelogic: The driver chooses his particular SMG gearshift
The Drivelogic function gives the driver a total of 11 gearshift options individually adjusting the SMG gearshift to the driver's particular style of motoring. The first and most significant distinction between these driving programs is the pre-determined gearshift speed: The higher the program, the engine speed and load, the quicker the gearshift. Six of these 11 gearshift options come with the sequential manual gearshift function (S-mode) ranging from smooth and dynamic all the way to high-performance. And in the S-mode the driver always shifts gears by hand.

The Ferrari 599 GTB shifts in 100 milliseconds while the BMW shifts in 65 milliseconds, you do the math....
Here is an interesting read :)
