just about every time i bleed the clutch hydraulics the pedal goes to floor or there is no feel.
we got the clutch parts in for sons 6 and will be replacing the clutch master and slave cylinders when putting it back together. i know the usual bleeding practices used and i'm looking for something different. i will try the usual techniques and also back bleeding using the hose, fluid and pressure from the left front cailper. that forces clean fluid from the bottom.
parts arrived yesterday and seeking info ahead of time.
thanks dave

i was successful doing the normal technique when i did slave cylinder on my E23. I bet you could use the pumps that are used on the brake systems. Im guessing that by bleeding the slave cylinder you in turn bleed the master as well?

The Bentley's says to remove the slave cylinder and push the pushrod all the way in, then slowly release it. This helps force out a bubble that can get trapped. (do not operate or bleed with the slave cylinder removed!)

per CW6er...

I have always had good fortune removing the slave and doing the "push the rod all the way in" trick. Works every time.

To CW: are you attending the 500 ? I will be going this year for the first time since 1997. I'm from Bloomington, but gave up my tickets when CART and the IRL went to war... (peer pressure from very old friends)

not sure, but may very well drive the E24.

thanks guys for that tip. that may be the trick. does the air bubble work it's way back up though the clutch master cylinder after it's pushed out of the slave?
